Brayden L Every once in a while you come across someone who is just really good at what they do, and that’s David here. In addition to being a great chat, David gives a level of detail and attention to his work that I haven’t found anywhere else. Something I thought was really cool was how he intentionally styled my hair in a way that highlighted the strengths of my natural hair. In addition his space is impeccably clean and the big window view of state makes for a really peaceful experience. Finally I find his price to value very good compared to similar options.

Jake Barron Amazing location, and David was terrific. Expertly skilled, great personality, and reasonably priced. You won’t beat the combo of environment, quality, and price. Highly recommend.

Zack Reynard David gave me a FANTASTIC haircut. He actually listened to what I asked for and cut my hair accordingly. Really nice guy and fun, relaxing studio. Highly recommend!

Daniil Shakhov David is a great guy and incredibly talented. I have been going back to him for years and there is really no one like him. His new place on State Street has an amazing vibe, the real Santa Barbara experience.

Aidan OLeary The stylist and owner David was super friendly and a great guy. Very good at what he does, it was my first time trying a new hair cut and the result was just what I was looking for. Definitely will be coming back for my next cut.

Marianna Venieri I had a really great experience! Walked in without an appointment, and got one with Vanessa (upstairs) - and what can I say, she was amazing! I went from long to a bob, but with fine hair it takes a really good stylist to make it right, and she did wonders! Im super happy with the result, after a detailed consultation, had a wonderful time and she gave me amazing tips for what styling products suit my hair! Definitely recommend her and the salon, very good vibe, very friendly people, and Vanessa is a really skilled hair stylist.

Chipper Clouser Visited Studio S today to have my daughters hair cut . Cindy is so amazing she always does such a wonderful job. Even when she has a twitching child like my daughter in her chair.

Brittany Cardilino Currently visiting family in Santa Barbara after having lived here for 22 years. No matter where I move, it will be tough for any salon to match Studio S. My stylist for multiple years has been Nise Baker. If you want hair that makes everyone on the streets do a double take, shes your girl. People that seek out a well preforming hair stylist are picky with their hair. Fact. I am no different from this crowd, and likely worse. Despite how emotional, picky and confusing I can be about my hair, Nise is receptive and caring. Her demeanor allows my experience at Studio S to feel as though I am not far away from the comforts of my own home. Overall, this studio is clean and beautiful. They have also exposed me to amazing products and priceless hair care knowledge. Every stylist is beyond friendly as they offer coffee, water, snacks and smiles. I hope this studio never closes down as it would be tough to find anything that comes close.

Daniela Kiss Returned a call even though I hadnt left a message, gave me multiple stylist options and reccomended Vanessa for my short hair, after I explained that I had a very bad cut a few months ago. Vanessa was amazing! She talked me through what exactly I liked, and really knew what she was doing. She did an incredible job and I will be back as long as I am in and around SB. If you have short hair and specific likes, or need someone whos good with pixies and such, Vanessa is incredible. 11/10!!

Monica Bacca I just walked in without an appointment, I was feeling very insecure about my botched haircut that I got from a previously bad stylist. I walked in without an appointment and she just took me right into a chair, connected with me and listened to my concerns. She basically held my hand for 10 minutes through a bang trim, then taught me how to blow out and style my bangs. She went above and beyond and I am so pleased with her. I will go back anytime I am in Santa Barbara.

Olivia I came here to get my hair cut a bit nervous because I wanted to try something different. My nerves were quickly quelled as Cesars years of experience and professionalism were apparent from the get-go. My new hairstyle came out exactly as I wanted it to, and he was so kind to offer styling and product tips! As a student, I also really appreciate how reasonable the pricing is for this area. Will be recommending this spot to all my friends, 10/10 experience!

Adela had an opening for the day before the gathering and did an amazing job! Im happy to have gotten my "go-to" on my first try!!

Maeve Allen-Horth I booked an appointment after waking up yesterday and realizing I absolutely hated my hair (well, I wasnt crazy about it with the initial cut, and as it grew it just got worse. The cut just wasnt what I wanted). It NEEDED a change. A little google search told me that this place was good, and was reasonably priced (both are true). I attempted to get an appointment with Lettie since so many reviewers suggested her, but she was booked for the day. Instead I got Lori (Lauri? Im not sure on her spelling), who by the way is AMAZING. She helped transform my hair into something I was over the moon about. I literally went from coconut head (Neds Declassified) with these awful choppy bangs my last stylist definitely messed up on, to pixie cut queen. She kept everything I wanted in mind, and we even discussed what we thought would be best for the back before she even did anything, not to mention shes a wonderful conversationalist. Im awful when it comes to talking to new people, and she made it really easy. I think we talked during the whole process and I didnt feel any bit drained (Im pretty introverted and suck at conversing unless youre the right person). I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a personal touch, and I suggest even more Lori, who I know Ill be going back to 100%. The women who run this place are talented, sweet, and knowledgeable. I couldnt think of a better place to get my hair done.

MAGICSANJIL Letty takes time to do a good job with my colors & cuts every month. I appreciate her conscientiousness. Shes a super neat gal. You wont be disappointed. And they are affordable, compared to the higher end salons.

Andrea tyler Dianne installed lemonade braids for me. She is very professional, knowledgeable and personable. The atmosphere in her business was very warm and inviting paired with laughter and great conversation. She completed my braids to perfection. I am so beyond grateful for her amazing work and help. As a performance artist I really need my hair to look good and this woman always makes magic! I would be nothing without Vanessa! She is so talented and I’ve tried to go to other people and there is no one out there with her expertise and profound knowledge of hair wizardry. I am so grateful. I’ve gotten my hair done here a few times and I will go nowhere else. I don’t live in town but she is well worth the three hour drive.

sheryl stratman Michael Romo has cut my hair for over 20 years because he is a very talented hairdresser who consistently executes the perfect haircut. I moved out of state and missed him so much for a little over 3 years. Just visited SB to primarily get a GOOD and restorative haircut and Michael knocked it out the park as usual. Highly recommend Michael for a good haircut while having great conversation at the same time. Ill miss you until I get back again!

Jane Sasahara Michael is a master! Not only do I always leave feeling pleased and refreshed; I often receive compliments and requests for referrals. Cut and color - he is simply fantastic, consistent, & creative. Salon U has a relaxing, calm, and artistic vibe that - thankfully- lacks that stuffy ambiance so often one must endure at other salons. Love this place, and will never stray! I highly recommend.

Just make sure to confirm the prices for the individual stylist your appointment is with when you book--rates vary significantly between stylists.

Hazelynn Khoo Sammi was amazing! Super easy to set up an appointment over text. It was my first time ever coloring my hair and she did an awesome job. She made sure she understood my vision before starting. She started by dry cutting my hair with a straight razor to get a feathery look instead of harsh layers. She then did a balayage on my entire head. It was a pretty long process but she was really friendly and we chatted the entire time. She didnt try to force any products on me, but did recommend a few products I could get at the drugstore for upkeep. I would definitely recommend her to anyone for a cut and color!

Marylou Pritchard Excellent customer service and stellar results have been my consistent experience at this salon. Sami is amazing with color. She really understands the science as related to different products, their use, and the type of hair being considered for the product. I have dirty dishwater and graying hair which has become difficult to manage. My color is a deep tone of blonde which highlights my skin tone well. I do receive many compliments on the color of my hair, and also the flattering cut. In the last few years, Ive never left the salon disappointed. This week, I had a last minute need to travel for work and canceled my appointment with less than 24 hour notice. The salon was very gracious and accomodating in getting me in! I appreciate the crew at 1329 and wouldnt hesitate to recommend any of the stylists.

Sadye Terre Elyse is the best in town. She specializes in blondes and will not steer you wrong!!!! She’s the most kind and hardworking hairdresser out there. She’s worked at the best salons in town and has now opened her own!!! Thankfully she took over Luce and has blessed SB with the perfect place for all your hair needs.

Jamie Meisinger I have been friends and a client of Elyse for over a decade now. She is truly a magical hair colorist/ stylist . The new salon is a huge opportunity for her to continue to grow and show how talented she is and always has been. The new space is in an incredible location and filled with other talented stylists. Elyse is the best person in the area for being a colorist and she is always up to date on the most recent trends. I would travel 300 miles to be able to see her. Essam Kabli I had an amazing haircut done this morning by Jaclyn at Phenix Salon Suites Santa Barbara. She washed my hair with shampoo for a starter and then she started trimming the side and the center in such an artistic way. If I am not wrong Jaclyn is an artist and working as a heir dresser on the side. The room were she conducted the haircut was so neat and smiled so fresh. Finally, she applied some cream that gave my hair a magical shine. Definitely, I will come again, this is my favorite salon.

alexandra silverstein Mirabella did an amazing job cutting and coloring my hair. She also cut my boyfriend’s hair and he said it was the best hair cut he has ever had and I agree! We wanted to keep his hair but it was looking very shaggy when we came in, she was confident that she could cut it right and ofcourse she knew exactly how to do it. We both love our hair now and have had a lot of compliments.
