hudson There is only one place I will take Scarlet, my 3 ton 1979 Ford Bronco Custom show truck. Thats the review: another shop put my gal on the back burner for more than a year and Uptown got me scheduled and out the door within 30 days. They also worked on one of my Mazdas, and they didnt mind at all that it isnt a show car. They gave me fair quotes for really great work, and if you care about attention to detail these folks are your kind of people. Gotta trail to go blaze, yall.

Susan Garber I was recommended to go to this shop, as I needed a state inspection and oil change, and had a great experience. This is a “Mom & Pop” shop and the couple that owes it are very down to earth people. Their daughter and son-in-law also work there, and everyone was very friendly and personable. They are also very honest and won’t tell you work “needs to be done” on your car that isn’t truly needed. My car currently has an open recall, but I was told by the dealer the parts were in a national shortage. Without even asking, Fox’s looked up, within a 250-mile radius, a search for who might have the part that I needed to see if they could find the part to complete the recall. They also helped explain to me what the recall was about and why it was important. Unfortunately, no one had the part, but I thought it was above and beyond that they checked to begin with and just reflects on their character. I will most definitely be going back.

Pauline Tines Brought my car to be seen at Evans Automotive Service for some weird noises and very satisfied with their work. Have always worked with Matt for any repairs needed, he’s very responsive giving me updates along the way, explains when needed so I understand, very nice and calm. Highly recommended

David Lyle If you have any auto issues I would absolutely go to and trust Kens Auto I have brought my van in several times to have work done and I cannot express how pleased I am with their service and especially their honesty. They could have easily charge me more on a few things but they didnt . They definitely have me as a lifelong customer! Dont make the mistake of bringing your vehicle anywhere else!

I recently found myself in a tough spot—while I was in Western NY for a funeral, Hurricane Helene hit my hometown of Asheville, leaving debris everywhere. I knew I needed new tires for the trip home since so many people were damaging theirs on the rough roads. On the recommendation of friends who had gone to Murphy’s for years, I stopped in, and I’m so grateful that I did. Not only did the team at Murphy’s give me great advice on choosing durable tires, but they also recommended an oil change to ensure I was ready for the long drive. When I came back to pick up the car, I was blown away to find that they had filled it with food, water, medicine, and toiletries for me to take back to my neighbors impacted by the storm. To top it all off, they—along with Canandaigua Bank—covered the cost of the new tires and oil change. Their generosity and thoughtfulness were overwhelming, and they truly went above and beyond. If you’re looking for a tire shop that values its customers and treats them like family, Murphy’s Tire Shop is the place to go. Their kindness meant the world to me and my community in Western NC. Thank you, Murphy’s, for being such a blessing during a challenging time.

Kayla Parmele I pulled into Kelsey‘s automotive spur the moment when the lever to pop my front hood broke. It was about 25 minutes before they closed, one of the guys stopped what they were doing to help me out. He had it fixed in 10 minutes and didn’t even charge me for it. I offered to pay twice and he refused to take payment for it, he just did it out of the goodness of his heart and that’s a hard thing to come by nowadays. A major shout out to these guys, I’m definitely going to be doing business with them in the future.

Philip Burns I called Mavis Discount Tire in the morning, and they were able to take me in right away. I thought I had a leak in one of my tires from a recent replacement, so I went in to have the tires mounted, rebalanced, and to get an oil change. After inspecting everything, they didn’t find any leaks but did find a bad sensor in one of the tires. Ryan was very honest and let me know that replacing the sensor wasn’t necessary—it wouldn’t affect passing an inspection. I chose to replace it anyway and had my oil changed as well. What really stood out to me was their honesty—they didn’t charge me for mounting and balancing the tires since it wasn’t needed. That kind of integrity is hard to find. Ryan and the rest of the staff were very courteous, kind, and professional. I highly recommend them!

Nicole McCormick Kevin fixed things on my sons Mazda 2009 that other mechanics in town said were electrical and they would not touch it. Kevin is honest and does not turn you away if he can do the job!! Saved me so much money!! SHOUT out to Kevin AGAIN and XL Auto, I am over the moon happy with the service I received there this time and many times prior that I did not write about. I went to another local mechanic, (my husband goes there so I was just going to get an inspection) I told them I think I need tires but not sure, and they said I needed wheel bearings on front tires. Thank God a friend sold me the car and I was able to speak to him and he said absolutely not one is brand new!! Thank God I took it to Kevin who confirmed the wheel bearings were good and I needed tires. I would have been out 700 dollars from the other mechanic, and I would have still had loud road noise which would have cost me another 500 dollars if I had just done what they said. I cant believe this mechanic is doing this to their customers. They have been in business for years in Canandaigua so disappointed and just sad that you still cant trust mechanics because I feel as though they get a bad rap sometimes. Kevin has been a constant at XL auto and I couldnt recommend him more.

Mar Lo I really cant say enough how professional and helpful this place was. They have a great owner and a team that reflects him. I was out of town and they came to help me. They went above and beyond to help me get me to a tire shop and thats important to anyone traveling. I recommend them to anyone. Thank you!
