UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital - The Villages (FL)

3 /5 Bill Mac: I went to your E R with vomiting and diarrhea, was worried about my 1remaining kidney, as it has not been doing too well. I had no pain, fever or confusion. They took a chest ex ray, cat scan, blood tests and came up with a diagnosis of diverticulitis, never a mention of my concern about my kidney. Your staff was all very cordial, but never a mention of my original reason for coming to your E R. After waiting for 10 hours, I told the nurse I was leaving. Somehow I let them talk me into staying. Then like magic they had a room for me. I was put on a clear liquid diet. Over the next 15 hours or so, I was visited be 3 or 4 doctors. Most asked questions irrelevant to my original complaint or my reported symptoms. The next morning I had enought and said I’m leaving, I’ll sign myself out. Getting out was worst than getting in, I was visited by another 4 or 5 staff. Only the representative for my nephrologist acknowledged the fact I didn’t need to be there. Finally they got my discharge in order, and I left. I was in the villages hospital 14 years ago for serious surgery and was impressed by the quality of the treatment. The place has changed.

5 /5 Anthony Allmon: Catrina the Nurse made my last two days very happy I got out just yesterday. Super happy to be with my kids now. I would like to thank the nurses, Dr. Kirby and his surgery team, tech and maintenance for keeping a great vibe. The room was always very clean. Nice to see how they do their job with their teams. I just want to say Thank YOU!

4 /5 Kathy Cayer: Staff was very attentive! Rooms were clean Food was nice & u could pick your own menu! Many changes have been made & it was much more pleasant! Staff was professional and usually on time with medication. The double rooms are tight. Was impressed that sheets were changed every day! A real change!

4 /5 Rick Hamilton: The level of care I was given during my hospital stay was outstanding. WOW, what a change from my last experience when this was not a UF hospital. The staff, nurses, tech’s, and doctors were all wonderful. Especially nurse Carolina and DR Sal. The food was good, and I had choices. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was one night nurse, although even she got better. This is now our #1 go to hospital.

4 /5 Jim Ward: The ER was very busy and slow but once admitted everything was great. Staff was very attentive and responsive, room was clean and well maintained, and even the food was very good with good selection of choices. My only complaint is that it’s an older facility with shared rooms and my roommate experience was not good but that’s no fault of the hospital.
