1 /5 Merv Eleazar: 2/14/2025: We checked in around 1pm because my Moms blood pressure hit 190/100. She was so dizzy which was causing her to vomit and she could not walk without being assisted. Well anyway, the receptionist didnt seem like she wanted to be there and it appeared that she stuffed some cloth in the hole of the security window to try to prevent her from getting sick from any of the sick customers which also made it harder to hear her because the security window didnt have any kind of speaker system. Well anyway, my mom started to feel like vomiting again, so we asked her if she had something to vomit in. She wasnt too happy with that request because she would have to remove the protective cloth from the window. When she was walking back with the barf bag, she was shaking her head in disgust. I asked her why she did that, but she immediately stopped shaking her head and didnt say anything. I didnt get her name (hopefully her supervisor sees this and thats why I put the check-in time and date), but she is a heavy-set woman who appeared to be a Korean woman in her 20s (or early 30s) with long hair. RUDE!!! She is a terrible person to have representing the hospital since she is basically the first person to give a first impression of this facility. The second reason for the low rating is her doctors response time. As I said, we got there on 2/14, they did 3 scans on her, but we didnt hear about the results until 2/17. It was a holiday weekend, so maybe the doctors were off, but that just seems to be quite ridiculous. Most of the nurses and techs seemed like professionals. The last nurse was a disappointment though. My Mom asked her for an apple juice and she said that she was going to get it, but she never returned, so I ended up buying one at the vending machine.
2/17: My mom needed to be cleaned after doing "you know what", so she pressed the nurses call button. My mom ended up needing to press the button several more times because no one came in a timely manner. A male nurse finally arrived 45 minutes later and he had the nerve to tell my Mom that she didnt have to press the button multiple times. What if it was a life and death emergency??? Their slow response would have gotten her killed. Consider yourself lucky if a nurse arrives within 30 minutes when you press the call button. Its sad that their service is sub-par as we live close by, so we are pretty much forced to come here for emergencies.
2/18: The physical therapist walks in for the other patient in the room, sees that my Mom is sleeping, and speaks to the other patient like she is 20 feet away. These people are rude and have no courtesy. There was no reason to talk that loud, No humanity at this place. I know people come here for emergencies, but avoid this place as much as you can. They dont deserve your business! They lack common courtesy.
2/19: Last night I noticed that my Moms speech was slurred and I brought this up to the nurses attention. They said that it was most likely due to her sinusitis, but even a non-medical person like myself knows that slurred speech is almost always related to something wrong with the brain. My cousin is a Chair of Neurology in North Carolina and he is the one who recommended a 2nd MRI which resulted in the discovery of a mini-stroke. Had my cousin not step in, we would have never found out about this until it was too late. I dont like giving bad reviews because Im one of those people who say "if you dont have anything good to say, dont say it" but this is ridiculous!!! My Mom could have died at home because they were ready to release her tomorrow! This is THE WORST experience that I have ever had at a hospital. No one seems to know anything and every time you ask a nurse about the status of something, they always say that they will need to reach out to the doctor who appears to always be MIA. This place has taught me to ALWAYS get a 2nd diagnosis opinion.
