Julio Lombera I went to Lake tahoe on business stayed 3 nights on our last day there. my check engine light came on.we went to OReilly to get a diagnostic check they said we should get the car checked out by a mechanic before heading home since we had a 7 and a half hour drive.we drove to 3 shops and they did not want to help us everyone said we needed and appointment. We went to norms as our last resort to see if they could help.we were giving up hope but thank God that the lady that was there and the mechanic helped us out and explained that I had nothing to worry about with the check engine light it would be ok to drive home. What I am trying to say is that if u are ever in lake tahoe and need an honest and trustworthy mechanic please dont wate your time going anywhere else go to norms they are amazing people.

Liana Young I had the best experience here. I had the low tire pressure light come on while driving on Highway 89 toward South Lake. Because my tire had recently been patched for a nail, I wanted to get it checked by professionals before continuing my road trip. I looked online and saw a good review for Five Star. When I arrived, the kind couple immediately said one of their mechanics could take a look. Bob, one of the most helpful people I have run into in awhile, checked all of my tires. Not only did he remedy the problem, but he shared valuable knowledge on how to deal with tires in general! I left with such gratitude to him and the whole staff for helping me feel safe to get back on my journey. They all felt like angels to me. I would recommend Five Star Automotive next time you’re in South Lake.

Jim Herrmann I needed some body work done on my car and had a very tight schedule. This organization stepped up and really helped me out. They were not only speedy, they were incredible at keeping me informed with accurate information, and the finished product was perfection. This was perhaps the best experience I have had with any kind of auto repair shop. If you are looking for auto body work in the South Lake Tahoe area, I cant recommend them highly enough.

Ricky Rancour Lake Tahoe automotive was great when working with my truck I own a business and needed the issue fixed quickly and they jumped on it and did a great job. They’re fast efficient and responsive not always what you get living in Lake Tahoe so they are awesome.

Andrew Gray Sam helped my family and I right away. We called around to several shops, but no one had availability to see us quickly. Sam helped troubleshoot our RV issue so we could safely drive back to Oregon. Great guy and super honest. Highly recommend!

Emily Davis I found a huge screw in my tire and called Big Brand Tire & Service while far from home, but just miles from their shop in South Lake Tahoe. "Come right in!" they said, and patched up my tire, free of charge! While I waited, I marveled at the excellent service Erica provided for customers in line and on the phones. She is friendly, knowledgable, energetic, and cheerfully communicative with EVERYONE. Devon was the efficient mechanic assigned to my Toyota and kindly explained this unlucky tire is on its last patch before I should replace it. They were thorough and generous enough to replace my key fob battery too, when they noticed the warning that it needed a new one. I was so impressed with the professionalism and the pace of their great service. Highly recommend for your tire needs anywhere within driving distance!

They gave me a clear estimate, kept me updated throughout the repair process, and delivered my car looking like new—actually better than before the accident. Bill Meenk I spoke with Elise a couple times before my scheduled repair. I was confident that she knew what she was talking about. I drove 150 miles to have them replace my exhaust manifold. When I got there, they had the right part, and the repair went as planned. They even took the time to show me exactly where the original manifold had failed. Their father started this shop years ago, and now that he is gone, his kids take great pride in providing honest repair services at fair prices. My repair would have been over $3000 at Subaru, but $1400 here! Very personal service! By the way, Subaru offered a 1 year warranty, but NAPA gave me 8 years.

Colleen Golden On our drive up to Lake Tahoe from San Diego, our car’s “check engine” light appeared. It was the 4th of July weekend & we were coming up for our daughter’s wedding. Struve automotive was recommended by a local & we brought the car in on Monday morning. Charlie had a counter full of keys for cars awaiting work, but he was very nice & said he would look at our car even though he was very busy. We received a call from him several hours later & they were able to identify the error and let us know the car would be safe to drive! The cost was very reasonable & we cannot thank him enough for helping us out! He even gave us suggestions for hikes in the area. I highly recommend! Colleen & Josh
