Julio Lombera I went to Lake tahoe on business stayed 3 nights on our last day there. my check engine light came on.we went to OReilly to get a diagnostic check they said we should get the car checked out by a mechanic before heading home since we had a 7 and a half hour drive.we drove to 3 shops and they did not want to help us everyone said we needed and appointment. We went to norms as our last resort to see if they could help.we were giving up hope but thank God that the lady that was there and the mechanic helped us out and explained that I had nothing to worry about with the check engine light it would be ok to drive home. What I am trying to say is that if u are ever in lake tahoe and need an honest and trustworthy mechanic please dont wate your time going anywhere else go to norms they are amazing people.

Emily Davis I found a huge screw in my tire and called Big Brand Tire & Service while far from home, but just miles from their shop in South Lake Tahoe. "Come right in!" they said, and patched up my tire, free of charge! While I waited, I marveled at the excellent service Erica provided for customers in line and on the phones. She is friendly, knowledgable, energetic, and cheerfully communicative with EVERYONE. Devon was the efficient mechanic assigned to my Toyota and kindly explained this unlucky tire is on its last patch before I should replace it. They were thorough and generous enough to replace my key fob battery too, when they noticed the warning that it needed a new one. I was so impressed with the professionalism and the pace of their great service. Highly recommend for your tire needs anywhere within driving distance!

Ian Ochoa I had a fantastic experience at Christensen Automotive! Shane, the technician who helped me, was extremely honest, helpful, and an absolute delight to work with. He took the time to explain everything clearly, gave me great advice, and most importantly, reassured me that my vehicle was safe to drive. It’s rare to find someone so trustworthy and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Christensen to anyone in the area—this is definitely the shop to bring your car to!

Don Larson I had a problem with my 2018 Subaru Outback. It suddenly would not move forward without a “stuttering” action. Got towed to Todd’s shop on a Friday afternoon. He was busy with other cars. We left it with him and by 5:00 PM he had determined that everything seemed fine. He hooked it up to his diagnostic computer and reset the system. Drove it all over with no issues. When I picked up the car before he closed on Friday he would not take any payment…saying “I didn’t do anything”. Oh but he did…He affirmed my faith that there are still people of GREAT CHARACTER. I concur with the other reviewers in their compliments to this man. Great to have a mechanic I can go to when I’m at my Tahoe home.

Liana Young I had the best experience here. I had the low tire pressure light come on while driving on Highway 89 toward South Lake. Because my tire had recently been patched for a nail, I wanted to get it checked by professionals before continuing my road trip. I looked online and saw a good review for Five Star. When I arrived, the kind couple immediately said one of their mechanics could take a look. Bob, one of the most helpful people I have run into in awhile, checked all of my tires. Not only did he remedy the problem, but he shared valuable knowledge on how to deal with tires in general! I left with such gratitude to him and the whole staff for helping me feel safe to get back on my journey. They all felt like angels to me. I would recommend Five Star Automotive next time you’re in South Lake.

james madison Went into Franks on a friday afternoon. Explained that the starter had gone out on our diesel powered motorhome and we were at a near by campground. Frank said could call Monday and we would arrange replacement. 0800 Monday Frank called and said they would be out at 8:30. Matt arrived on time, was courteous, considerate, and went right to work. Two hours later job complete. What more could I ask. First rate operation all the way around. His shop looks like an old timey garage but man they know what they are doing. Thanks Frank and Matt!!

Jim Herrmann I needed some body work done on my car and had a very tight schedule. This organization stepped up and really helped me out. They were not only speedy, they were incredible at keeping me informed with accurate information, and the finished product was perfection. This was perhaps the best experience I have had with any kind of auto repair shop. If you are looking for auto body work in the South Lake Tahoe area, I cant recommend them highly enough.

Gary Castleman Went in with what I thought was a a big issue, found out it was very minor. I called all of Tahoe and every place was a week out. Nick took time out of his schedule to help me get my vehicle going. This was true professional service for me.

Bill Meenk I spoke with Elise a couple times before my scheduled repair. I was confident that she knew what she was talking about. I drove 150 miles to have them replace my exhaust manifold. When I got there, they had the right part, and the repair went as planned. They even took the time to show me exactly where the original manifold had failed. Their father started this shop years ago, and now that he is gone, his kids take great pride in providing honest repair services at fair prices. My repair would have been over $3000 at Subaru, but $1400 here! Very personal service! By the way, Subaru offered a 1 year warranty, but NAPA gave me 8 years.
