james madison Went into Franks on a friday afternoon. Explained that the starter had gone out on our diesel powered motorhome and we were at a near by campground. Frank said could call Monday and we would arrange replacement. 0800 Monday Frank called and said they would be out at 8:30. Matt arrived on time, was courteous, considerate, and went right to work. Two hours later job complete. What more could I ask. First rate operation all the way around. His shop looks like an old timey garage but man they know what they are doing. Thanks Frank and Matt!!

They gave me a clear estimate, kept me updated throughout the repair process, and delivered my car looking like new—actually better than before the accident. The staff was friendly, and they handled all the insurance paperwork, which made the entire process stress-free. You can tell they take pride in their work and care about their customers. Alison Tacker I would give John 10 Stars if I could!!! My Audi was having issues as I was making my way back to The Bay and I knew I wasnt gonna make it. John absolutely made the experience of breaking down the best it could possibly be. He clearly is an expert in his craft. I really appreciated his communication on what the issues were and how quickly he could get it repaired. His expertise and level setting of expectations made me feel comfortable and confident that I had found the best in the business to get me back on the road. If I lived closer, hed be the only person I would trust to work on my car. I often travel to South Tahoe, would be thrilled to schedule further maintenance at Higher Ground.

Colleen Golden On our drive up to Lake Tahoe from San Diego, our car’s “check engine” light appeared. It was the 4th of July weekend & we were coming up for our daughter’s wedding. Struve automotive was recommended by a local & we brought the car in on Monday morning. Charlie had a counter full of keys for cars awaiting work, but he was very nice & said he would look at our car even though he was very busy. We received a call from him several hours later & they were able to identify the error and let us know the car would be safe to drive! The cost was very reasonable & we cannot thank him enough for helping us out! He even gave us suggestions for hikes in the area. I highly recommend! Colleen & Josh

Emily Davis I found a huge screw in my tire and called Big Brand Tire & Service while far from home, but just miles from their shop in South Lake Tahoe. "Come right in!" they said, and patched up my tire, free of charge! While I waited, I marveled at the excellent service Erica provided for customers in line and on the phones. She is friendly, knowledgable, energetic, and cheerfully communicative with EVERYONE. Devon was the efficient mechanic assigned to my Toyota and kindly explained this unlucky tire is on its last patch before I should replace it. They were thorough and generous enough to replace my key fob battery too, when they noticed the warning that it needed a new one. I was so impressed with the professionalism and the pace of their great service. Highly recommend for your tire needs anywhere within driving distance!

Andrew Gray Sam helped my family and I right away. We called around to several shops, but no one had availability to see us quickly. Sam helped troubleshoot our RV issue so we could safely drive back to Oregon. Great guy and super honest. Highly recommend!

Liana Young I had the best experience here. I had the low tire pressure light come on while driving on Highway 89 toward South Lake. Because my tire had recently been patched for a nail, I wanted to get it checked by professionals before continuing my road trip. I looked online and saw a good review for Five Star. When I arrived, the kind couple immediately said one of their mechanics could take a look. Bob, one of the most helpful people I have run into in awhile, checked all of my tires. Not only did he remedy the problem, but he shared valuable knowledge on how to deal with tires in general! I left with such gratitude to him and the whole staff for helping me feel safe to get back on my journey. They all felt like angels to me. I would recommend Five Star Automotive next time you’re in South Lake.
