Guthrie Lourdes Hospital - Cardiac Rehabilitation

Tim Hubbard I was a CHF patient for four years at this location until December 3, 2024. In the four years as a patient, I had three different cardiologists. The first two cardiologists left the practice for personal reasons. My scheduled appointment in September 2024, was canceled due to the lack of an available physician. The appointment was scheduled again for December 3. When I arrived for my 2:30 PM appointment, I was checked in and waited an hour and a half. Other patients came and were called back to see their providers and left. I asked why I was waiting so long and the front desk assistant said, “this is crazy, I don’t know what happened.” She left the desk for five minutes and came back and tried to schedule yet another appointment for the following week. The following day, the clinic reported me as a “no-show“ and started a string of harassing phone calls to try to get me to reschedule. As far as I know, they have dishonestly billed my insurance for the so-called no-show. There was no apology given. It is quite clear that they do not put their patients first as they consistently failed to provide me with consistent and professional care.

Broome-Tioga BOCES

Makers Tony (klocking out) I really love the experience of going here, great for trades, and STEM programs. If youre considering going here, they have PLENTY of opportunities to come check the place out. They also have a lot of trades. The design isnt the best and the place isnt that original but the staff, the experience, and all of that is really nice.

Binghamton VA Clinic

Alba Traoz Even if youre 100% service-connected permanent & permanent/total, I do not recommend this clinic. If you are a women & are assigned Dr. Webster, I absolutely recommend changing doctors immediately. He doesnt understand really anything about psychiatry beyond "just think positive thoughts". I dont know why a doctor would be clueless as to why anxiety is increased when youre told you have ONE TO TWO YEARS LEFT ON THIS EARTH. I might not even make it to my daughters graduation. Now Dr. Webster is on a revenge quest to make sure I receive absolutely no help as a 100% service-connected permanent & total disabled veteran for PTSD. In fact, he is going out of his way to make it even harder. Im a stage 4 cancer patient but Dr. Webster wants to ensure whatever time I have lepton earth is absolutely miserable, he wants me to stay chained to my bed until I die. The ONLY reason I have late-stage cancer is their refusal to listen to me about my symptoms for years. Told me I didnt need a Pap smear for five years. I came with late stage cancer. Now, Im being punished & lied about for switching doctors. I tried to switch doctors years ago but this doctor told me it wasnt possible. I found out, years later that it actually is possible. Then I read his notes & he has made such a false statements, Im left with no choice but to take action via an advocate. Im filing a complaint about this doctor with every agency I need to in New York State. Im looking into legal options on how to get this lie removed from my medical records. I also have a line in with my state senator & have been asked to explain everything to them in detail, which I will absolutely be doing. This "psychiatrist" has accused me of being a drug-seeker for trying to get help with autism & ADHD. Autism doesnt even involve medication. He also said Im not autistic because I "have empathy & can make eye contact." This means he is totally uneducated about autism. Autistic people have empathy & the eye contact I do make is FORCED & UNCOMFORTABLE but if I dont make eye contact, Im labeled "rude" or a "liar" so I HAVE NO CHOICE. He doesnt even KNOW women are misdiagnosed & struggle getting a diagnosis until theyre adults. His PTSD "treatment" is literally "just try to think positive thoughts". He was absolutely baffled as to why I had increased anxiety after being diagnosed with STAGE FOUR CANCER. Now since he has passed these lies onto my new "doctor", they are making sure that they make my quality of life, whatever life I do have left, as miserable as possible. Its like THIS VA IS INTENTIONALLY TRYING TO LET ME DIE. I am so disgusted over the outright provable lies this man has said about me, all because I switched doctors because this man refuses to listen or hear me out in any way, which, the VA not listening to me is the ONLY reason the cancer is even a thing. They did nothing to help me in any way & are now actively harming me. This clinic is a total nightmare. I have only known of one single good person there in the entire almost 15 years Ive been going to this VA. You are truly putting your life in what I believe to be extremely incompetent hands. They are the only reason I have to be scanned every 90 days for cancer cells for the rest of whatever life I have left. They are making my quality of life as miserable as possible because my infusions cost them $22k every 45 days.

Endless Mountains Health Systems

Lauren MacVicar Went there and absolutely loved the place. The staff were amazing to the person we went to visit. Nurses were always coming in to check on them and when the person was upset they calmed him down. Thank you so much for being kind to that person I truly appreciate it.

Helio Health

Jack Straw Im not at all sure why this place is getting low reviews. What people dont seem to understand about getting clean and/or sober is that professionals like them cant help you if you dont want to listen, and put into practice what they tell you. Also, I had my best (completely voluntary, THIS IS NOT A RELIGIOUS FACILITY) Bible study groups here that Ive ever had, and the mandatory groups themselves I thought were quite progressive in their approach, and well moderated. Listen, if you accept the help they offer and *really* mean it, you can begin your journey of recovery here. I did, and Ill have two years of sobriety in a couple weeks.I really couldnt have done it without this place either. They were a "port in a storm when I needed one the most. It was here that I also saw what my future could have in store for me if I kept up with my self-destructive ways. That fear then turned into motivation, and I havent lost it yet. Nor will I.

Guthrie Lourdes Hospital

james allen I can say that this institution is consistent. My ER visit was horrendous. The staff was unattenent and snippy, not to mention slow. The patient advocacy team was difficult to get in contact with and marginally helpful when I finally did. My bill from the hospital did not match what I received from my insurance company, as it had an "insurance adjustment" that raised my bill $233. When I called to get an explanation, it was hard to get in touch with anyone who cared much less who could tell me what the charge was for. After some doing I was told it was a NY state tax, so I asked for an itemized bill reflecting that it was a tax. A couple weeks later I received the same bill in the mail stating the charge was an insurance adjustment along with a Google printout explaining the New York Healthcare Reform Act. And yes I am referring to a printout of a Google search; petty I know. I ended up paying the bill in full just to put this establishment behind me. I would highly recommend going to UHS.

Apalachin Family Care

Christina Mott Dr Hoda and Sharon Pierce are both very compassionate caring professionals, they actually take the time with you rather than rush to get to the next patient, even if it means they will be there late. Donna in billing is extremely knowledgeable and helpful as are the other staff members. From Pediatric to Geriatric this is a GREAT FAMILY PHYSICIAN OFFICE

Broome Pediatrics

david clifford Amazing care with both of our children. Having a disabled child receive great care in this area is scarce but this office is wonderful from the front office staff to the nurses and doctors. They not only listen but have good knowledge in disability care and suggestions, helping us make more better and informed decisions. Couldn’t recommend them more to any friends or family looking for better care in the area.

Guthrie Lourdes Hospital - Emergency

Meagan DeJong I would offer more stars, but unfortunately, one nurse made our ER visit not just unpleasant but to say that she was frighteningly uninformed is an understatement. Our son was experiencing some side effects from a recent vaccine and out of an abundance of caution, we took him to the ER to be checked, as any parent would. Front desk receptionist, great; woman who took his vitals, okay but not really pleasant and definitely not a great bedside manner or any manners, period. Same with the phlebotomist who literally didnt say one word to any of us. I have medical professionals and nurses in my own family and I know that kindness is free and really helps people who are in a position of worry that are visiting an ER. Wouldnt hurt to ask "how are you doing tonight?" or ask my son if he plays a sport or ANYthing to just be very basically congenial. But thats minor compared to one of the RNs that was on duty. Unfortunately, we did not get her name (although Im sure its on record for that shift at 3am), but she came in to the room, asked about symptoms and said "now theyre treating Covid with Vitamin C" and that she "wasnt sure what the doctor would do since this is self-inflicted." WOW. How is this woman a nurse??? Not only is that just outright misinformation, but to say that getting a vaccine makes any symptom "self-inflicted" is just nuts, cruel, and WRONG. She should be ashamed of herself telling any parent such a thing. Its something Ill be following up about because it was just so shockingly ignorant. Later in the visit she ignored us and gave our 13 year old son discharge paperwork to review and sign instead of speaking with us or having us--the parent/guardian--sign as we were supposed to. Poor excuse for a nurse, and clearly scarily uneducated but operating as if shes a doctor, telling patients incorrect information that could do real harm. The other nurse, Karen, was fantastic. Kind, a calming presence, reassuring (just as the doctor was) that we did the right thing in bringing him. I told her what the other nurse said and she seemed to also feel, rightfully, that it was ridiculous and said not to pay attention. She joked around with our son, and made us feel at ease, while offering information. Polar opposite of the other "nurse." We made sure to thank her as we left. Its not easy to be a nurse, not easy to work that shift, but the right people go into it for the right reasons, and shes proof of that. She could have had the same attitude and ignorance as the other nurse, but she chose to prioritize the patients needs rather than her own (wrong) opinions. The doctor (Valletta) was also good. Very brief, as ER drs can sometimes be given that theyre often dealing with critical emergencies, but again told us that we did the right thing, reviewed our family history, and did some additional testing to be sure our son was okay. I sincerely appreciated that. An EKG was performed by a gentleman named Cody, who was also sincerely kind and overall great. We had to rely on terrible nurse to give the EKG to the Dr so I hope he actually saw it--I dont trust her judgement at all and will be following up about that, too. Fatigue among medical professionals is a real thing. I get it. I have family that are nurses, receptionists, do medical billing and coding, and one who is a neurologist, all in different settings. I have the utmost empathy for what it is that they do, day in and day out, and especially since the start of the ongoing pandemic. I believe they all deserve more--more pay, benefits, time off--for all that they do for all of us. But none of that is the patients fault. When people come into an ER, theyre there because theyre experiencing some type of emergency and need expertise and compassion. Someone should remind that nurse. Im happy to speak to someone at the hospital to talk about this experience further if thats something they care about hearing. Karen? 5 stars. Cody? Also 5 stars. The doc? 5 stars, too. But wow, that nurse--0 stars would be too generous. Discharge paperwork also incorrect!
