Adam Lacey Hello, I was recently at 1202 Salon and Hayk did an amazing job cutting my hair. He’s been cutting my hair for over 10 years and i’ve followed him everywhere he’s worked at since. Anyone in the Pasadena area in need of a cut, Hayk is your guy!

C F My favorite, Andy, has moved to the 1202 Salon in Pasadena. I’ve been going to him for probably 10 years for color and cut. He always gets both my color and cut JUST right. My root color is a very, very dark blonde and before I found Andy, not everyone got the highlights right. Sometimes they were underdone which gives you a reddish, brassy tone OR overdone and you’re a platinum blonde. Somehow, Andy has always gotten my color just PERFECT. He’s also a very nice guy!

Solomon Naman Freddies been doing my hair for over 20 years. Not one bad cut or color. The man is simply the best artist in the business.

V V In Jan 2018 I had a haircut by lead stylist Michael. I received a very good cut and Michael is a talented hair stylist. However, upon my arrival I could not seem to retrieve my Pinterest images I wanted to share plus he was quite chatty and distracting and so he just started cutting. Not having the pics ready was my fault but it did not feel like he was all that concerned about finding what I wanted by even asking me questions. I was also not a fan of the styling. It was a bit frumpy and lacked vision, and although I wanted something for work I still wanted something sexy and edgy. Michael kept chatting about all kinds of things esp his many other interests and talents. It was interesting but nonstop and not much about my hair. When I pay a decent amount for a service, I feel that the experience should be about listening to me and genuinely caring about the outcome and essentially be all about ME.

Paulina Stanczak I found 1202 salon and spa after reading countless of reviews about how fabulous this place is. I wasn’t disappointed! I was fortunate enough to have Chelsea do my hair. She’s one of the nicest and most professional stylists I’ve ever met. Chelsea was so thorough with her work and made me feel right at ease while doing my hair. It’s clear she puts a lot of heart into what she does! I love how Chelsea had a consultation with me a day prior to doing my hair. This gave me plenty of time to think over how I wanted everything done. The next day, Chelsea got right to work. She gave me partial highlights, which turned out so vibrant and beautiful. I was really impressed with how effortlessly she blended the new highlights with the old ones I got at a different salon. Chelsea also gave me a haircut, which turned out fantastic too! She cut my layers very skillfully and transformed my hair from dull and limp to full and voluminous. Ive already received many compliments! The whole procedure took about an hour and a half (other salons I called told me it might take up to 5 hrs!?). Throughout it all, I had a lovely conversation with Chelsea. She’s so sweet and fun to talk to. It makes the time fly by! Finally, I appreciate Chelsea’s honesty and the affordable price she gave me for the cut and highlights. Considering Chelsea’s impeccable quality of work, it was really an unbeatable deal! I couldnt be more pleased with the whole experience! Thank you Chelsea for the new year glow up! Menzer Ara was friendly, personable, and efficient without compromising on quality. He is the first stylist I’ve been to and I will no longer be going to barber shops. I highly recommend his services. Tremendous experience and service.

consumersteve Ara is an artist, and I mean that quite seriously. He is the ONLY one I trust to cut my hair. I’ve been coming here for well over a year now and I’ll never go anywhere else at this point. Not only does he know exactly what to do to make my hair look perfect — I don’t even have to say a word, he just knows what to do — he is super professional, fast, respectful, and friendly. Not only that, his studio is immaculate, clean, comfortable, and cozy. Every time I leave Ara’s studio, I feel reinvigorated not only by the amazing haircut he gave me, but by his energy and positive spirit. I completely trust this man and love his work — again, he really is an artist!

Ramon Cano Cristobal Disappointed with the quality for the price I have been going to Ara Hair Studio for about 8 months now and my experiences have been inconsistent. The first time I got my hair cut here, I didnt like it but chose not to say anything. A week later, I went back and explained my concerns, but Ara charged me full price for what I felt was a correction, as if it was my fault that the cut was unsatisfactory. The second haircut was great, which made me think the issues had been resolved. However, my most recent visit was disappointing again. A week after my haircut, my friends commented that I looked like I had gone to a barber instead of a professional hairstylist. At first, I thought they were exaggerating, but when I checked with another stylist, they pointed out that my haircut was not done well - there was texture on the sides, but the back had no layers at all. For a place that charges almost $100, I expected consistent quality and attention to detail. Unfortunately, this experience made me feel like I didnt get what I paid for. I wont be returning.

William Gaw Ara is a true professional. I enjoyed his mastery skills in precisely cutting and crafting my haircut. He paid attention to every detail. I highly recommend you come visit his salon.

Andrew Ichkhanian Ara is the ultimate professional! I made a last minute appointment for a haircut, beard trim and neck clean-up and I left feeling like a new man. He took me in no problem and proceeded to give me by far the best service and cut Ive had in a very long time. We also had great conversations and you can tell he definitely cares about his customers and his craft. You definitely get what you pay for. Thank you Ara see you next time!

lluvia verdin Federico has been doing my hair for a few years now. I don’t think I’ll ever do my hair anywhere else. He goes above and beyond to do his job as perfect as possible. I always recommend all my family and friends to go to him. -10 stars if possible!

k san I dont understand why people dont give an honest review nowadays. It was my first time to ever go for a 2 block cut. I saw this place had flawless reviews.i had to check it out for myself. Yelp, google, 5stars across the board. This is too good to be true. I had a consult to later I found out was Frederick. We spoke on what I wanted to achieve for my head. Tbh it was very easy to create an appointment no doubt. Even on a Friday afternoon. The last text I received was that there is $15 dollar late fee, and a $70 last minute cancellation. I head in 30min early . Come in to find out Noah was about to dig into his lunch. Patiently waiting up for my 2pm appointment. Noah and Frederick. Come out. Looks like theyre headed for lunch. 2pm comes around. And now Im angry. Hes late.Theyre both late. I dont understand why both had to leave for lunch since Noah already got food.If i am expected to pay a late fee. That should be expected from them as well. I sat down. With noah. And tells me that the length of my hair wont be long enough for the cut and that for today he could create a solid foundation.. I told them maybe its best to come back later when my length is ideal . Frederick.gave me this speil about being independent contractors and that this is their livelihood. Blah blah. So I gave it shot. With high expectations. I sat through this . I was expecting perfection. After 1 hour of a cut. It still comes out to be uneven. Since they are masters of their craft. I call bullshit. $70 dollars for an imperfect haircut.

Yoshi M Federico cut and styled my hair amazingly! Took the time to see some reference photos and looked at the shape of my head so that the haircut goes well with it! Definitely going to be main stylist!

Inwoo Park Noah knew his stuff, taught me a couple things about my hair. Made me feel like I was in good hands when cutting my back length hair to above shoulders. Funny guy.

Sigma Takeuchi Noah and Federico are masters of their craft. I primarily work with Noah, and his attention to detail and use of a variety of techniques are two of many qualities I appreciate about him. Ive been considering getting a Japanese perm recently, and Noah has been helping me decide on a style by graciously sending me pictures of what would look good for my hair texture and head shape. While I havent worked with Federico yet, I talk to him all the time and he is a true professional with the way he carries himself when working with other clients. V.i. Studios as a salon is beautiful, well lit, and is also a pretty decent size as they recently renovated their place. They sell Milbon hair products here as well if youre interested. Overall, I have not gone to any other salon/barber in the past year and a half because Federico and Noah are just that good at what they do. Hit them up if youre in the Pasadena area!

Steve Hwang Aryga is the best. Ive been a client for over 5 years, and even after I moved away from Pasadena I make the drive to get my hair cut with her every month. She is friendly and accommodating, and Ive always been extremely happy with my haircuts.

Alberto Miguel Lopez I’ve been coming to this location for almost 2 years. The attention to detail is unparalleled, the service is incredible and Aryga will always make sure that you leave satisfied. There are few locations that can compare to Dream Cuts. Thank you Aryga!

Vanessa Castañeda Curtis is amazing. He gives you exactly what you request. My highlights came out beautiful. I started bringing my teen daughters who have curly hair and they love their cuts. During COVID, I cut my own hair and he helped me get it back into shape. I have been a loyal follower for a number of years.

Linda M. Curtis is incredible! He has done my hair for eight years. He is Salon 55, a treasure nestled in another salon at 10 S Mentor Ave, Pasadena, CA. I have incredibly long, black hair (way below my waist). Not easy to do, but Curtis does a great job. He colors it, trims it and conditions it until it ends up shiny and as soft as baby hair—and he does all this at a very fair, more than fair price. I could not do it anywhere else for the same price and be as happy. I’m moving to Northern California and excited about my going, except for leaving my great hairdresser behind. I will be hard pressed to find anyone as grand as Curtis.

Adora Curtis is always sweet, friendly, and efficient. His prices are fair, and he is wonderful to chat with while you are getting your hair done. He seems to be able to handle pretty much any hairstyle and gives frank advice about whether you should have your haircut a certain way, or dye your hair or not. Ive had him literally talk me out of getting services with him because he knew that what I was asking for was not going to turn out the way I thought it was going to turn out. I greatly appreciate that and dont hesitate to follow with his advice. The shop is always well decorated clean and neat.

Music Pyriscent “Pyriscent” Curtis is THE man! If you want a professionally done haircut at a reasonable price look no further. Youre going to find a kind and welcome experience with plenty of warmth and professionalism here. I wont be going anywhere else EVER.

Veronica Ota I love Curtis. Hes been cutting my hair for years. He always manages to squeeze me in, often with short notice, and does a great job cutting my hair. Hes cut, colored, and put up my hair for different occasions and it always comes out looking great. Hes super friendly and a true professional.

Lydia Caradine So long story short, I had an appointment with a different stylist for Senegalese twists but she was unable to do them at the last minute. I asked her for a referral however and she connected me to Tecumsah. Tecumsah asked me what I needed, moved some things around and got me in to do my twists the same day. She was knowledgeable, professional, kind and funny. She listened to and delivered on my requests and offered lovely refreshments. Her prices are reasonable and her location in Pasadena is great if you’ve been looking for a black hair care professional in the valley. I highly, highly, highly recommend her. Also, my twists came out beautifully if you’re wondering!

Julie Threats Tecumsah is the hardest working stylist in America! She does all styles! Since she has been doing my passion twists, my hair has grown tremendously. I also use her "MO Deep hair growth oil" Its keeps my scalp moisturized! Call her up and get your doo tight and right!

Chrissy Love I emailed to book an appointment and no response. Then I called and was told to send pics after that a few brief correspondences but there was no appointment booked. My birthday is coming and all I wanted was two trims, 2 washes and a wig install. Black ppl do better with customer service.

Noora Alsaeed Tecumsah was amazing, I called her for a very last minute wash and dry last week and she was so kind enough to work me into her schedule. It did require going to a different location than the salon but that didnt matter because she did a wonderful job with my hair and even styled it up for me. Also my hair felt amazing afterwards even after a second wash!

Leondra Q I have been coming to Tecumsah for almost 2 years and I am extremely happy with her work. I started my locs with another beautician who didn’t do what I requested. She was able to adjust my locs to my likening without having to start all over. I appreciate her taking the time to find out what I actually want and not just doing whatever is easy. My locs are very healthy and moisturized and I receive a lot of compliments on them. This gave me the confidence to try a few colors. The coloring process can be damaging or the color you want can be off if it’s not done right the first time. I recommend Tecumsah for all things locs! Color, starter locs, loc maintenance etc..you will be pleased with the results.

V Meyer Alicia and her team at Chignon are the best! Have been coming here for many years and always appreciate their professional and friendly service. The front desk is very communicative and accommodating about appointment times—I’m usually there every 5-6 weeks so this is a big factor for me. As a working professional I appreciate that they are generally on time and that their service is consistently good. Alicia has a skilled eye for style and great to work with as we have experimented with going longer and shorter with hairstyles. Consistently great service!

DeDe Cook I have been going to Chignon since they opened. Everyone is super nice and helpful and Alicia is an amazing stylist. Alicia has always given me a perfect hair cut and amazing color and highlights. I will never go anywhere else to get my hair done and I would highly recommend the salon to everyone

Alex Mercado I recently visited this salon on Saturday expecting a great service after viewing the reviews. I arrived and everyone was very polite the problem came when they started doing my hair. I showed and told them exactly what i wanted, I asked if that was something they could do and they seemed to be very comfortable with the picture I used for reference. As soon as they started working I saw a couple things that were throwing me off but did not think much of it. The real nightmare started when they started bleaching my hair. They left the bleach on my hair for a really no time at all, after they rinsed me you could clearly see that there was pieces that were much lighter than the rest of my hair. I expressed my concern and they totally disregarded me which is when I started to get very upset. They started giving me options because they knew it was their fault, started offering me complimentary drinks when my hair was the issue ! After I still was forced to pay for the FULL service and after checking the charges i noticed that they added tip for the stylist and even the receptionist . Sadly i will not be coming back !!!

Marcrum Shonda (Ldy3lu) This is an amazing salon! The staff is the friendliest I have ever encountered, the salon is always well-kept and clean, and my hairstylist is the best! I highly recommend this salon to everyone, because the hairstylists at this salon can do any type of hair.

M A Really poor customer service. The Receptionist, refused to give her name, and would not inform the tiers of stylists/colorists. I was specifically looking for the top stylist/Director for a color correction and she was incredibly unhelpful. Especially when I would have ended up paying >$650 for the service. She then put the phone down on me when I asked her to cancel my appointment as I was unable to get a clear answer from her. New clients do want to see the work of stylists on social media and saying "[they] have been around for a decade" is not helpful. Then she put the phone down on me! Frankly, receptionists dont care if the salon loses business. And there is no oversight or complaint mechanism either. Disappointed by the interaction here.

Melanie Mockobey I’ve been to a lot of salons and had a lot of people color my hair, but Akane at Salon Xia is the best! Always so much dimension in the color when I’m done - she really takes a lot of time and care with her clients. She’s also very nice to talk to! HIGHLY recommend.

Wendy Manzanila I took my mom for a pixie cut, but the stylist recommended shaping her hair to better suit her face. My mom agreed, and we both loved the result! The haircut was fantastic, the location was convenient, and the stylist was super nice. I forgot to take a picture to see the difference from before and after. I totally recommend this place.

sbs medical supplies It had been a little bit since I had last gotten my hair cut due to life just being life. I wanted to have it a bit shorter than it was. Marina helped me. She did a great job. I could feel a difference as she was cutting my hair. Afterwards, it looked wonderful! She did such a good job with it. It feels and looks good.

Camille Padilla I got my hair done by Erika and I am very happy with the final results! The salon is clean and minimalist. The other artists are very kind and delightful to be around. I came in with the goal of going lighter / blonder. This was not easy as my hair was a mix of black, brown, and warm blonde so there was some correcting that was needed as well. So thankful for Erika and the amazing work that was put into to finally reach my blonde goals!!

Mandy E I just want to say that when I walked into Salon Sonik earlier today, my hair was a MESS! I had a bad experience with another salon, and it left my hair brassy, full of gold tones, and super damaged. I didnt think it could be helped. I didnt know what to expect, but Sonia worked a MIRACLE on me. She booked me on the same day, which I was so grateful for. She restored the health of my hair with a treatment. Did a gentle stripping of color to pull out the old toner, did some more conditioning, added a toner, and then gave me a haircut that totally saved my hair and confidence! I walked in with straw for hair and left feeling more beautiful than I have ever felt! Im so grateful and will be returning at the end of the month for a touch-up before my birthday! I can only give 5 stars, but if I could, I would give 100! Seriously, she is amazing and the whole staff is wonderful. Very clean and professional environment, fair prices, and great results. Karen Weinberger I have just moved to Pasadena from the east coast where I had lived my whole life. Of the many new services I needed to find was a hair salon that was clean, welcoming and had great services and stylists. I was quite picky having gone to the same person for 30 years who knew just how to take care of my fine curly hair and was comfortable using a diffuser. After reading tons of reviews on line, I decided to try Salon Sonik and make an appointment with Erica who had all 5 star reviews. All I can say is I struck gold! This salon checked every box. Everyone there is super friendly, the salon is immaculate and Erica is awesome. I had a free consult with her the week before my appointment so she could familiarize herself with my hair and my needs. She nailed it. I left the salon yesterday thrilled with my cut and color. As they use a different line of products than my former salon, the color is slightly different and I love it. Even my husband who never notices my hair color commented how nice it was! I have to also say that Veronica who washed my hair gave me one of the best shampoos Ive had in a long time. She doesnt just wash your hair, she also gives your scalp a good washing and massages it at the same time. She massaged my scalp again with the conditioner. It was so relaxing I almost started to fall asleep! I really dont have enough words to say how thrilled I was with Salon Sonik and everyone there. People like Erica and Veronica and everyone else in the salon help making a big move like the one my husband and I just made, feel so welcome. Ive already booked my next several months appointments. I cant praise this salon highly enough!

Lindsey McCallum Hands down, the best salon experienced Ive ever had. Really. The stylists are knowledgeable and fun, the atmosphere is welcoming and laid back, yet gorgeous and professional. My stylist, Mike, is amazing and really personable. My husband and I actually really enjoy going in together just to sit and catch up with him as he cuts one of us. The salon really cares about its stylists and goes above and beyond to create a family among them - at one point, they all took a day off each week to hike together, etc. I really enjoy supporting a business that actually cares about and does right by its people, while still giving a wonderful, excellent experience to clients.

Angelfire Very professional. Wabi Sabie Decoration. It is a hair salon. Dont be surprised. If the appointment before you is late. You have to wait for your turn be patient. My hair dye was damaged by a previous hair dresser but is was perfectly fixed. It was a mess, but Janice repaired the damages. Thank you

Nikki Kreuzer I have to gush & say AMAZING things about my new haircut from Wolfgang. Outstanding! I found my new coiffeur! One thing I must say is that he listened EXACTLY to what I wanted and gave me exactly that. I had him take 6 inches off my hair. I went from long to a chin length bob. He is extremely skillful and it was nice to talk to him as well. Parking was easy too!

B L I gave this salon a 1 star review on Yelp because of the way I was treated by the owner. She then started privately messaging me trying to intimidate me to get my review taken down and that I should of never called and asked questions. I went into the salon for treatment for my dry hair. She told me my hair was unfixable and looked like "a mullet". How insilting! Other reviews on Yelp state that the same woman will sabotage your hair if you dont like the initail work she did. I believe it! Be careful of this place. Bad owner!

Rocio Garcia I came to get a Keratin hair treatment along with a trim because Ive always had problems with my hair being crazy and poofy!! Jonas Schoellkopf Went to the salon twice, nobody was there during open hours. The first time a neighboring store owner saw us and called the hairdresser who showed up 10min later. One of the best cuts I have had. The today, I called, nobody picked up, I showed up and nobody was there. I asked around if anybody had the hairdresser’s number but nobody did… I ended up going to sports clips on the Vons plaza 2min away. I understand I was doing this last minute and that might not be the way the business is operating. But I expected to have someone pick up the phone when calling several times in a row during business hours. Maybe the calls could be forwarded when nobody is present at the location. I will make sure to call in advance in the future.

Monique Hernandez I have been to Ecco Hair a couple of times, and I always leave feeling more beautiful. Robin Powell is my preferred hairstylist. She has great techniques and is very detailed in my haircuts. She always makes my hair look amazing and gives advice on my hair style and texture.

M Holdener This was my first time going to a salon where I had to book an appointment for. Generally, I would just go to “walk-in” salons. I was tired of my hair continually being butchered however so I wanted to give this place a shot. GO FOR IT. Mari was amazing! I showed her some inspiration pictures of what I was looking for and she explained how it wouldnt look ideal with my hair texture and volume but then proceeded to cut it according to my wave pattern. Ive never had anyone take my hair into that much consideration before. She even asked how I usually style it and cut it to be most convenient for my daily life. Absolutely love this salon!

From the moment I sat down, I felt completely comfortable, she is incredibly professional but also genuinely sweet and kind. During my consult she took the time to truly listen to my concerns and goals for my hair. Throughout my session Cecily patiently educated me on how to properly wash and style my hair. She recommended products and taught me silk scrunchies and claw clips are my hairs best friend- which was incredibly helpful! What truly sets her apart, is her passion for textured hair. My hair looks and feels healthier than it has in years. The cut itself is perfect – it allows my natural texture to thrive. Texture I didn’t even know I had!

Alexis A Got a curly cut done by Alexis and she was so kind throughout the whole process! I had previously gotten a curly cut in June 2024 so I thought my hair would just be grown out, but she showed me how I did not have any shape from my previous cut. She walked me through each step of a good routine and explained what products would be best for my hair type! Such a great experience and definitely recommend!!

Caroline H Excellent service and amazing results! Street parking is free and easy if you start your appointment by 9 a.m. Early morning appointments are available. Street parking fees begin at 11 a.m. Or, if your appointment is later in the day, pay for parking at the garage one block away ($12 max daily fee). My stylist is Lyn. She is an experienced stylist who can do everything: perms, color, cuts, all of it. And shes super nice! All of the staff are friendly and professional.
