1 /5 Milanna DeGeorge: I had a terrible experience here. After talking with other doctors while being now pregnant with my second child, I know that the nurses and my OB at Trios Birth Center should have gone about my care much differently. I ended up having a healthy birth, it was made to be a very traumatizing and stressful experience in ways it didnāt have to be. There were multiple miscommunications with my doctor that led to treatment/procedures that werenāt necessary. The worst of which was that while pushing (no epidural) I declined a cervical exam from the nurse twice, which I have every right to decline, and instead of respecting my autonomy she brought in my doctor who also insisted (not asked) that I have a cervical exam while pushing. I did end up saying āokay,ā but I feel that I was coerced. The exam was by far the most painful thing I have ever experienced, and was completely unnecessary, especially since I had already declined. They also didnāt properly clamp the cord on my son, and he lost enough blood that they had to do extra testing on him to make sure he hadnāt lost too much. Ive established care elsewhere and would not recommend this birth center, or OBs to anyone.
