Dave Bartkus I’m a recent arrival to the PNW, and had previously visited the same barber for almost twenty years. I arrived on Whidbey late last year and had a picture of myself right after a haircut from my last barber, and clipper-number and other instructions on how to cut my hair. I tried a chain hair cutting place a couple of times; these visits made me realize that I wanted to try something more personalized. So I ponied up the extra $5.00 (cheap!) and am really glad I did. Sure, you should make an appointment, but hey, get a decent haircut from Martha as a favor to all the people who have to look at you.

Seth Meisel needed a haircut while on vacation. Called to get an appointment, because other places in the south part of the island were booked up. The barber that cut my hair really took the time to cut it correctly, rather than just getting me out the door .

JD Island I take my 2 kids here for trims and my elderly father for his haircuts. She does a great job! She’s very gentle and respectful with my father who has declining communication skills. It’s a very local, small town kind of place which is why we like it. As for the reviews about rudeness, my guess is it’s cross cultural misunderstanding. The owner/stylist is very warm and kind once you make the effort to have a conversation. Services are basic but that’s what Coupeville needs, basic offerings so we don’t have to travel north or south, and that’s why she’s been around so long. Leave a message to make an appointment, she will call you back but she runs the whole place - be patient.

Tiera Hoerner Naomie has been doing my hair since she was in beauty school. She has always done an amazing job and has a high level of professionalism. She genuinely cares about her clients and does everything she can to give them the best experience possible. I love my hair every time she does it whether its a new style or color. She really takes the time to get to know her clients, what they want and like, and makes sure to deliver the best result. She communicates extremely well and educates me on my hair, how to take care of it and gives me the best tips for my best hair! I highly recommend her and Salon Blue!

Sami Postma Ive been going to Naomie at Salon Blue since shortly after she opened, and I couldnt imagine going anywhere else even though I live farther away now. She always makes the best suggestions and really listens to me and where I want to go with my hair. I really consider her a friend with how comfortable she makes me feel and the great conversations we have.

Christina Hwang Naomie has been doing my hair for more than 20 years-both at the the salon she worked at before and then I moved with her when she opened up hers own salon! My color is always fabulous and so is my cut. I’ve not trusted anyone else in all that time! Her little shop is so cute and just feels nice. To the poster who said they are rude there...I have to say I have never experienced that before and don’t know anyone who has -and have many other friends and coworkers who see her! Her salon almost always has a full schedule and has never been a “walk in” salon like others can be. Expecting to walk in and be seen right away is not realistic at all salons. And they have NEVER “messed my hair up.” I’ve always been more than happy. I would suggest giving them another chance! I think you’ll see that what you say you experienced is not the norm there!

Lilia I can’t recommend this salon and its incredible team enough! My hairstylist Bethany truly went above and beyond, putting so much thought and care into my hair while carefully listening to what I wanted. The results were even better than I had imagined! She was also assisted by Maddie who is also incredibly talented, and together they made the experience wonderful and fun! Every time I visit, I leave feeling genuinely cared for and beautiful. The service is consistently amazing, and the attention to detail is unmatched. I’m so happy to have found a salon I can trust, and I’ll definitely be returning again and again. Highly recommend!

A Pa I had an all over color today at the Coupeville salon. My stylist was Jasmine. The experience was great, such a beautiful location. Greeted promptly and warmly by reception. Jasmine was fantastic! She understood exactly what I wanted during the consultation. She gave me a beautiful, deep red that I have always wanted. The salon and shampoo area are gorgeous. Thank you, Jasmine, for lifting my spirits and making my hair happy!

Ayaka Mawary Ocean view spa with great vibes people in the small historic town on the island. Love to come this place for various menu but always let me fall asleep, I always completely feel relaxed. Recommend for tourists as well! Couple massage or couple pedicure would be great.

As to your reply to bad your security camera does not have audio. No one wants to be treated rudely to pay 60 dollars for a haircut but then sit in their car because you dont have a lobby? Elizabeth Agin I received a cut and total color service. I had virgin naturally chestnut hair and wished to go platinum with vibrant tonal color overhaul. My stylist was honest with the price estimate (which was an industry standardized price) and the process and potential limitations of my request ("we may not be able to get it that light the first round"). When I arrived she had me wash my hands and a mask was required for service. We discussed cut options and color directions (I tend to rely heavily on the experience of the stylist however). She checked in frequently regarding my comfort and needs and educated me on their procedures when I asked. She educated me on their product lines and future visits. I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the salon and the professional knowledge of the staff. Highly recommend. My cut and color are phenomenal.
