Jono Brooks Ive used J&M for over 10 years with no issue (however... Ill add that Ive never brought them something to diagnose. Ive strictly used them when I know whats wrong and tell them what I want done...) until this year.
I brought in my sons car to have a clutch job done on it. When we got it back, the speedometer no longer functioned. I called them later that week and let them know that this was the case... they said to just bring it back in for them to check out. I didnt get a chance to bring it in for a couple of months... but after I dropped it off and they inspected it, they said that because they could see that someone had done a front-end job recently (my son and I did this...), they werent responsible. I let them know that the front-end job was done BEFORE I had them do the clutch job. Didnt matter they said. So, they told me itd be around $300 to repair. I said "forget it... well fix it ourselves"... when I came to pick up, they charged me an $85 diagnostic fee... for what I already knew.
Sorry yall... thats how you lose a 10+ year customer.
