1 /5 Megan Haight: Poughkeepsie Office- I would like to say that the doctors I have seen have been absolutely wonderful. That being said, as with many other reviews Ive read, the front office staff, specifically Amanda, are some of the most unfriendly people I have ever encountered. They seem like they really hate their jobs, and it shows all over the faces and with their verbal responses.
I stopped in to the Poughkeepsie office this morning as instructed by urgent care to make an appointment for sudden onset hearing loss in one ear. As a 42 year old woman with no health issues or injuries, this was quite concerning and scary for me. Amanda scheduled me an appointment for the end of October as that was the soonest they could see me. I asked to be placed on the cancellation list and mentioned I was concerned to wait that long to be examined. Her response was that was what they had available and that sometimes hearing lost "just happens" and when I meet with the doctor they can go over the "extent of my hearing loss". I found this to be totally unacceptable as she is not a doctor and should not be giving medical feedback. This obviously made me more anxious. As I was leaving I asked if I had in fact been put on the cancellation list and she responded rudely that she had already taken care of it.
I just dont understand why so many of the office staff at this location have to be so rude for absolutely no reason, and why nothing is done to change the atmosphere for patients.
I called their New Windsor office who was able to get me in tomorrow with no issue and will only go to that location from now on, despite living in Poughkeepsie.
There is a sign they have posted behind the front desk in the Poughkeepsie office that says they wont tolerate rude or aggressive behavior from patients. This is laughable.
Do better ENT and Allery associates, Amanda and all other office staff. Your patients deserve to be treated with kindness and respect.
