Dez Partlow-Greer Pastor Sammy literally went above and beyond to make sure myself and my husband felt welcome. He took time out of his schedule to send me a welcome video. We came on a Sunday as well where they did a meet, and greet which was nice. We were able to talk with the pastor and his wife Brittany. We even saw some familiar faces which was nice. You are greeted in the parking lot, and when you get in the church. Also there’s free coffee. I love the small intimate feel. The church is held at the Athens cotton mill. Pastor Sammy said they come in early every Sunday, and set up the church. That’s impressive.

Susie Thrasher My family attended Christmas Eve services at Saint Stephen’s. It was so inspirational and beautiful we were overwhelmed. The choir did a magnificent job. The Eucharist was delivered in a reverent and meaningful way. Thank you St Stephen’s family

Whether you like to attend Liturgy of the Hours, offered before dail morning masses, or attend weekend services, offered at multiple times to accommodate most anyones schedule, they make it easy to find a convenient time to attend. Offering masses in English, Spanish and Latin, you have several masses to choose from. Finally, if youre looking for a parish to exercise your Catholic faith or desire to become a Catholic, St Joseph Parish and School will make you feel welcome and find the resources you need in order to help fulfill The Great Commission to spread the Good News of Christ" to all the earth.

Eddie Bouknight We were greeted by very friendly people. The worship and praise was great. Pastor Brians message was inspiring. He not only preached in a way that the message was easy to understand, but he explained how to apply it in our lives.

Anitra Bearfield I was a member from 2004 to 2010 and it is a great church, pastor Larry Forte is great and he is real and the congregation is great, they welcone everyone with open arms. I moved is the reason i no longer attend if I still lived in Athens I would still be going. If anyone is looking for a good church home New Freedom is one of the best.

Kelly Scott Such a wonderful place. Everyone welcomes you with open arms. The academy is great! Teachers are educated, fun, and communicate well with parents.

Emilie I started going to this church regularly during the peak of the pandemic in 2020. They were meeting under a tent and requiring masks as a Covid precaution, as well as live-streaming the service. For a long time, I was one of the streamers, and didnt go in person. Once I was fully vaccinated, I began attending in person (my own decision - vaccination is not required to attend Calvary!). Now we meet inside, and masks are no longer required (but they are welcomed if you choose to wear one - I frequently do so). In the building or under the tent, this church has a vibrant glow about it, and you can tell its just somehow a little more alive than many other churches you may have been to in the past. Im a huge fan of the relaxed, family feel of this church, the involvement in the community, and of the diversity within the doors. You can come to Calvary wearing whatever you want - traditional clothes from your home country, a suit or dress, or jeans and a t-shirt. Youll be surrounded by a congregation that is diverse in age, race, and nationality. Ive never seen anyone look out of place. Pastor Thomas preaches the truth from Scripture in a relatable way that is honest, down to earth, and incredibly genuine about the human struggles we all go through and how walking with Jesus should impact our daily lives. And then Calvary works together to put this into practice and to encourage service within the church and in the community itself. I could go on, but it would be best if you just experienced Calvary for yourself. Check the website for current service times, and come visit us! Christopher Pipkin This is a great church with great people, balanced, with good teaching, theology, music, liturgy, and community. They’ve recently moved to a new site (out of the Botanical Garden, to downtown) because they are growing too large for that space. My family and I have been part of this community since 2017 and have been members almost as long.
