An’Drenaye I WISH I COULD GIVE this a ZEROOOOO RATING. This Halifax is very unprofessional and rude, this was my second time coming here just to still not be seen. Sat in the room for 3 hrs with an iv in my arm and no tests taken. The receptionist were also laughing at someone who seemed to be mentally challenged and that is very unacceptable as they are supposed to be people who care for us. They were also on their phones, giggling, and when I asked how long it would be they said in a stern nonchalant way “the rooms are full, sit down and wait”. Is this what a hospital is about? That 7-11 shift needs to be replaced immediately. The ratings will continue to deteriorate due to staff and efficiency!

Matthew Schwarmann This review is for the Labor & Delivery section of the hospital.  If you just want the quick summary it’s 100% Have your baby here, the staff was beyond incredible! 1. Aletha our night nurse might be the most incredible human being on the planet.  We had a really long delivery; 39 hour induction including over 25 hours of active labor.  As you can imagine my poor wife was exhausted.  I know Aletha had to have other patients as well, but somehow it always felt like she was there every single second we needed anything.  Even more amazing on the 2nd night Aletha’s 12 hour shift was supposed to end at 7 am while we were about 36 hours in.  I’m still not sure exactly how Aletha knew but she just seemed to know my wife and I were hoping she would be able to stay, and sure enough Aletha worked 15 hours straight to stay with us through the birth of our son.  That extra 3 hours meant my wife got to be that much more comfortable having this amazing person helping to deliver our son, and we will be forever grateful we had this phenomenal nurse to help us through. 2. Sarah (our day nurse)-  Have you ever met someone where it’s simply impossible to talk to them without smiling and feeling happy?  Sarah is this exact person.  Picture just a ball of good energy.  Whether it was a joke, a story, a smile or just anything to make my wife feel better Sarah was perfect for it.  All while handling all her patients and duties.  Exactly what you need when going through labor.  People like here are one more reason to choose Halifax. 3. Kaylee- Another day nurse we had the pleasure of having.  Kaylee managed to combine a no nonsense attitude get the job done while making it clear she genuinely cared about us.  Her leadership was very calming and you just knew instantly you are in good hands when she’s around.  She answered so many questions from us and again made us feel comfortable in a stressful time. 4. Kendal- Kendal was a nurse from another department moving over to labor and delivery.  She has 3 kids of her own and multiple times she was able to give advice, answer a question, reassure us about difficulties etc etc.  She was kind and friendly and someday there will be another new mom who gets reassured by Nurse Kendal Moving to our general experience.  Right of the bat Halifax is the only Level 3 NICU in the area.  They also offer tours on Tuesday afternoons before you deliver just so you can see everywhere you will be going, fill out paperwork ahead of time and just be a little more comfortable.  Another thing we appreciated after we got admitted they let us know they had training nurses (as all hospitals do) who may want to watch the delivery but that our comfort was paramount and if we didn’t want any extra people in the room none of them had to come.  We wanted to at least try and help a little and agreed to having one training nurse observe who wound up being a lovely girl named Trinity.  She was really sweet, eager to learn and be helpful.  I imagine training under these amazing Halifax nurses Trinity will someday make another set of parents have a great delivery experience.  One more just perfect example of how much these Halifax nurses care.  As mentioned our labor was quite extended and my wife had been stuck at 4cm for hours.  Every other person who had come in around the same time as us had already had their babies.  Aletha came in to give my wife another check and when she came up smiling we knew we had finally progressed.  Aletha entered in we were 9cm (baby almost ready to come) in the computer and about 5 seconds later we heard the entire floor of nurses cheer.  Turns out they had all been checking on us on their external monitors for hours rooting for us.  It felt fantastic to literally be able to hear people caring that much. In summary I understand there might be a newer or prettier hospital somewhere, but I am beyond certain you will not find a safer, more comforting experience for delivery with people who genuinely care about you than Halifax Health Labor Delivery.

Mark Duggan Its no wonder they have a 3.3 review. Think about that urgent care. 3.3 star review. It all starts with the kid that answers the phone ignorant. He whispers you can barely hear him. And he likes to hang the phone up on people when they ask him tough questions. What a disgrace that a company would let somebody like that answer their telephone. Dealing with people with medical issues , zero stars

Phil Stanley Fantastic help every time I’ve gone. All of the negative reviews seem to be people who do not understand the definition and limitations of a walk-in health clinic. I’ve had all of the NPs there - two were women and one was an older gentleman - each were thorough and fantastic. Sometimes there is a wait, sometimes there isn’t. My preferred place to go for my yearly colds and general aches and pains.

Ronald Buckmaster Excellent primary care physician Dr Dessavre is primary care physician for both my wife and myself. She is thorough, patient, intelligent, friendly and has properly diagnosed every problem we have brought her. In my 80 years she stands out as the best PCP I have encountered. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring conscientious physician. Ron - November 03, 2023

denise lee I was a patient of Dr Marrese for 20 years. He was a excellent doctor. Always up beat, smiling and understanding. He knew my medical conditions and knew what I could tolerate as far as medications due to being very sensitive. He knew my daily struggles. I saw his replacement Aubrey Schock and I was not impressed at all. There is no comparison. I even called the office after my 1 and only appointment to see if I could change doctors. The office staff said "No" you cant switch doctors you will need to find someone else outside the practice. They could care less about you being a patient for 20 years. I even left a few messages for office Manager & she never called back and was never available. You should have a choice to switch to another doctor within same office if your not happy. I made the appointment after Dr Marrese was gone & had no idea who he was until I went there. Halifax should have known they had Big Shoes to fill replacing Dr Marrese. Im sure they have lost other patients that feel the same way. My 1 visit with him Im not even sure he looked at my history. Its been an experience..

monica boas If I could leave 0 I would this place is awful there is no communication professionally with most of the staff only personal and they put their personal lives first no one is doing their jobs Ive had two tests done that I didnt even know I was getting with no results in 24 hours with our being able to eat there are literally three staff members standing at the nurses station as I write this and my call button has been flashing for 15 mins. Being admitted from the ER for over night we have been placed in what I can best describe as cubicles with a shower curtain door. They have missed my antibiotics on 4 different occasions and Ive only been here 2 days.

Jeremy Souders I had what appeared to be a heart attack 14 days ago. I went to the local a few tests were ran and i was released. I kept telling them they missed something. They were wrong. I put my life in the hands of halifax medical center in deltona. I am 3rd generation to trust them and just as they saved my gramma my mother and now they have saved me. They ran multible mri and scans and couldnt find anything but i tild them theres something wrong and instead of dismissing me they did more testing only to findnthat the disks in my kneck arenpushing into my aorta. And i could of pierced it and died. The staff here especially the RNs are to me the greatest team ive ever been treated by. They are kind, listen and extremely tentative to our needs. They are on time and assist us in the best way RNs were meant to treat us like decent human beings. Im not just a number here. I am human and cared for above and beyond any where ive been. Thank you to all the staff from the food lady to the lady who cleans our rooms to the doctors and specialists. To the nurses an extra big thank you for your care and respect you show us. We are one with needs but you superstars care for multiples at once. Thank you all. Theres no other team i would rather treat me and my family. Keep up the outstanding work.

Erin S Their front desk scheduling folks are extremely unhelpful and disrespectful. I called in today to see what were the needed items to put together an appointment for my fathers referral for vascular surgery along with understanding the rough timeline to when an actual appointment could be scheduled after reviewing his imaging reports & his referral notes. I understood that there are specific policies and procedures that UoF has to take and implement. There are policies and procedures that almost all companies must take. However, I did not appreciate their lack of concern and urgency. Along with that, I did not appreciate that the front desk/nurse kept repeating the policies and procedures, which felt like I was being talked down upon for not "understanding". This lack of basic human empathy and concern is disgusting and clearly should not be represented in a space that is meant for people to come to for help.

Michaela Walker This office is obviously overworked and understaffed: unfortunately this means you will not get great care here. Obgyns not only cover all appointments in a day but births on the floor, which are of course not subject to appointment. This leads to long wait times and very very short appointments. Most of my appointments were less than 5 minutes. That in and of itself was not a problem, but it led to substandard care in two instances. My Rhogam shot was completely forgotten by my care team. I asked about it at my appointment after the ideal window passed and was told flippantly to go get it and my dtap at a pharmacy. I called every pharmacy in the area and none of them ever give rhogam. They made me come back as soon as possible (because wed already missed the ideal window), made me do a blood draw and wait for results to confirm that i am STILL rh negative (as I have been since I was conceived) before finally giving me the shot. It was over five hours at the hospital just to get this shot. The second egregious lack of care was when I reported ppd symptoms, including self-harm ideation, at my 6week visit. I said I wasnt sure about taking medication and wanted to discuss my options. Dr Desai said to let him know in a few weeks if I wanted medication and was gone. I called back over a month later admitting that I just needed some medication and didnt need to talk about my concerns - just give me something. I was completely dismissed by the nurse on staff and told that the Drs note said to come back in a few weeks and it had been over a month, so go see someone else. I was floored by how condescending this nurse was to someone reporting feelings of worthlessness, inadequacy, and suicidal ideation. Edit: i forgot to mention that I was made to push on my back even though I had no epidural and being on my back felt wrong. It all went very quickly, and I was not held on the bed, but I asked multiple times to change position but the dr refused. Looking back, I find that pretty shocking in 2023. The hospital was great. The nurses and hospital pediatrician were wonderful. Im grateful for my healthy baby. But the care provided by this OB group is substandard at best.

Elizabeth Henslee The security guard at the front is extremely rude and it is unfortunate she is the first person you encounter. The front desk seems to be inept. No wheelchairs are offered regardless of condition, and simple things like hand sanitizer and masks are missing from the front desk. You do get seen quickly. Communication is lacking, and I do not recommend unless coming for a broken arm or something that does not require much time or diagnostic. Go to Orlando if you can.

Angelia Juette I had the BEST experience at Halifax Hospital for my surgery! Everyone was so kind and attentive. Everything was explained ahead of time and from the time I checked in til discharge , I knew exactly what was going to happen. Bella the night nurse truly listened to my concerns and made me feel cared for and was able to sleep. Amber the day nurse was so thoughtful. Even my husband commented on how clean and caring everything and everyone was during g my stay. Doctor Molpus kept myself and my husband informed before and during my stay. 100% recommend this hospital!!!

Cole Devlin The ladies who work the front desk are always miserable. My wife commutes 2 hours to receive exceptional care from the doctors on sight but without fail, she is always greeted by rude and sarcastic remarks made by the staff behind the desk. Everyone has a bad day, but EVERY single appointment starts and ends with the poor attitudes of the ladies up front and it always leaves a terrible taste in our mouths when we leave. Abysmal customer service and care.

Macy Routh Kayla Norwood is the best gynecologist I’ve ever had. She listens, understands, and tries to resolve any questions or problems you have. I am so comfortable with her and I’ve only seen her like 3-4 times. She’s a doctor that actually cares about your health and well-being. I am so grateful and the entire staff is so nice and welcoming! I highly recommend her and this facility!

RealwithRiss This has to be the worst ob office, I have seen a different person each appointment, with previous high risk situations you would think they would be more attentive. So unprofessional I would never recommend anyone to come here. Completely outdated. They seem to only care about their paychecks. Best part is the lovely woman at the front desk who schedules for you. I have been pregnant several times and out of every experience this has to be the worst one. Don’t even know who delivers your baby. Advent health is so much better than this dump.

Kayla Vermillion Compared to the doctor/ob office I used throughout my first pregnancy, this place by far surpasses them in professionalism and efficiency. The staff is friendly and quick and made the start up process so easy. They got me an appointment quickly, and when it came time for said appointment, they got me signed up and into the back much quicker than any other doctor’s office I’ve experienced. I love 30 minutes away and while there’s a doctor I could go to 5 minutes from my house, this particular office makes the drive worth it. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough and am extremely grateful to have found them.

Maritza Cruz Since Ive been going there. Its been amazing so sad that my previous psychiatrist or nurse practitioner left but since Ive been seeing Dr Foster/ nurse practitioner. Shes amazing she came from New York and Im from New Jersey so every time I see her I feel like Im home and its easy for me to talk to her about everything and anything if anyone needs someone to talk to professionally it would be her shes open and honest. She doesnt just give you medicine and cover it up like a cut on a Band-Aid but she is real person to talk to so I definitely reviewed her as five stars.

Kathy Cole We have been going here for 6 yrs, The best NP they had was Tammy who we miss so very much. Then we had Ashley who was very nice and helpful now she is gone as well. I am waiting to see who they get to replace them. We have had no issues when we did have to see other doctors at any of their locations. It is also great that they have a location opened two days a week late evening hrs for working parents.

Yamashita Neal My son has asthma and was in need of a prescription from this doctor in order to get his inhaler to help him breathe. I pleaded with these people to send the prescription to CVS to have it filled and they refused insisting my son would have to wait until the next day to be seen by the doctor before they could send the prescription over for him. As a mother I was disgusted and really disappointed with these people. Do not take your kid’s to this place because they don’t care about anyone but their selves. The receptionist is rude and very knowledgeable
