LA Fitness - Plantation (FL)

4 /5 Julio Mendez: I really enjoy working out at LA Fitness and appreciate the facilities. One thing that could make the experience even better would be if the gym opened at 7 a.m. on weekends, similar to other gyms in the Plantation area. This would give members more flexibility to fit in their workouts earlier in the day.

2 /5 Blake Mouw: This place is bad. I walked in as a day passer for $20. I got there around 6 PM so I knew that it was going to be packed and it was. This is not necessarily a complaint because every gym is packed at 6 PM, but I think it contributed to my negative experience. My main complaint about this gym was the organization. Not a single dumbbell was where it was supposed to be. I asked a few members if it is like this all the time and they said yes. I have two other gym memberships in Central Florida, where I live. I can tell you for certain it is not normal to have the dumbbells racked in random spots. If I was a paying member of this gym, I would not be able to deal with this on a daily basis. Also, another thing would be the equipment selection. They have a lot of equipment, but it does not seem like a lot of thought went into what they have. They do not have a traditional low row. They did have one sort of standalone low row. It was not a very good piece of equipment. I tried it. If I’m ever back in the area, I will just buy a day pass at the crunch fitness down the street because it was a more enjoyable experience last time.

2 /5 Benjamin Eschenbach: LA Fitness in Plantation, Florida, despite undergoing a major renovation a few years ago that should have modernized the facility, unfortunately falls short in terms of maintenance and cleanliness. This location is consistently dirty, with the same dirt visible for days on end, indicating a lack of thorough cleaning by the staff. Its quite honestly filthy, to the point where I am actively looking for alternative gym options. The culture of cleanliness among the members is also lacking. Its a rare sight to see anyone cleaning up after themselves, and this neglect contributes significantly to the untidy environment. Additionally, I almost never see staff members making rounds to spot clean or re-rack weights, which should be a basic operational standard for any fitness facility. The disorganization extends to the weight areas where dumbbells are haphazardly scattered. Finding the right weights in their designated spots is a constant challenge, and it’s among the worst disarray I’ve encountered in any gym. This not only makes workouts less efficient but also poses a safety risk. Moreover, the locker room is in a disappointing state with a leaking ceiling and a noticeable lack of essentials like paper towel dispensers. Such conditions are not only inconvenient but also detract from the overall experience of visiting the gym. Given these conditions, I would not recommend the LA Fitness in Plantation. While the gym itself might have the potential to be a top-notch facility due to its infrastructure and equipment, the poor maintenance, lack of cleanliness, and disorganized environment make it a less desirable place for regular workouts.

1 /5 Lucia Perez: Extremely Disappointing Experience at LA Fitness Plantation I recently visited this gym and was shocked by the poor conditions. The machines are not only old but filthy — covered in sweat stains and grime that make them feel sticky and disgusting. The bathrooms are absolutely filthy, with floors so dirty it’s hard to believe they’re in a fitness center. Every corner is dusty, and most of the equipment has a layer of dirt and buildup that shows complete neglect. It honestly feels unhygienic and uncomfortable to work out there. I do not recommend this gym at all.

1 /5 rafinee compres: First time I come to this gym and I’m not impressed at all. Big building yes but lacking friendliness and cleanliness, 3 guys were in the front not 1 said hello , I had come from Pembroke Pines on flamingo ( the best!!)and wanted to work out a few days here to be told I’ll need to pay $10 daily and a fee of $111.00 wait this is not 24 hours fitness lol that I’ll be able to come at 3 am if I wanted. I clearly gave the guy the look of NOT happening which then said for today you are ok. They are missing the whole point of customer service here at this gym and it’s obvious- would not recommend neither coming back.
