Rhone Geha I recently had the best experience I have EVER had at an auto repair shop here. My catalytic converter was stolen last week, and I initially went to a different nearby mechanic who quoted me a very price and told me that the repair wouldn’t be possible for 3-6 months due to the part being on nationwide back order. I then went to First Choice for a second opinion, and not only were they able to replace the part THAT DAY, I ended up paying significantly less than what I was quoted at the other shop. Do yourself a favor and go to First Choice Auto Repair if you’re in need of a mechanic. Unlike so many other places, they no not scam you on price and do fantastic work.

Larry McCroskey Great place. Lot looks full, but you just pull in like any other shop. Call ahead to schedule. The owner explains things clearly and simply. Made a point to educate in a positive fashion. I will definitely be coming back in the future. Obviously one of those places that prizes creating new and long lasting customers over temporary profit. The look of the shop reminds me of the small places where I grew up. Busy because they do good work and have a dedicated clientele. There is no better sign of a good mechanic.

Whenever I bring my car in, I feel comfortable knowing it’s in good hands, and while auto repair isn’t my favorite thing to spend money on, I always know that I’m getting a fair quote at TMS. They have always been happy to answer any questions, and don’t push work that I don’t need, so I really trust them when they tell me that something needs attention. Tony, Ngoc, and the rest of the crew are solid dudes who do great work. As long as I’m in Oakland, these are my car guys.
