Jessica Sun Been coming here since 2020 for all my tune ups and repairs. I originally picked this shop because their prices were more competitive than other spots, but I ended sticking with them because of how trustworthy and helpful they are. Joe (the current owner), Tyler, and their team have always done great work on my car and have never over charged for labor nor parts. In fact, theyre always trying to help you save money. Tyler has always kindly taken the time to explain different options and their associated costs, but never pressures you to make one choice or the other. As long as Im in Oakland, they will be my trusted mechanics!

Cameron Kazokas Was on a road trip and figured I had something lodged in my tire when my low pressure light came on. Came to Bay Auto Tech because it was close and he fixed it in minutes with no wait! It was a lifesaver!

Larry McCroskey Great place. Lot looks full, but you just pull in like any other shop. Call ahead to schedule. The owner explains things clearly and simply. Made a point to educate in a positive fashion. I will definitely be coming back in the future. Obviously one of those places that prizes creating new and long lasting customers over temporary profit. The look of the shop reminds me of the small places where I grew up. Busy because they do good work and have a dedicated clientele. There is no better sign of a good mechanic.

Major Williams Dennis was able to drive up to my house and fix my car so i didn’t have to get it towed. it saved me a lot of money. He was very kind and the issue was fixed in a timely manner

Akshai Wadhwani I had the recent pleasure of having Eric work on my car at Johnnys Auto Shop. He did an absolutely fantastic job. Fast, professional, communicative, and he diagnosed and offered solutions for issues with the car that I hadnt noticed myself. The second time I had to bring the car in, for the repairs he had diagnosed, he took me on 24 hours notice; this is super rare and impressive for a shop as busy as theirs. I also gleaned from talking to Eric and observing the shop that they are family- and repeat customer-oriented; they have lots of customers who have been coming to the shop for years and essentially consider Johnnys to be their family mechanic. This is always a very positive sign for the quality of the shop! They are also very friendly and suitable for folks who arent as familiar with their vehicle; Eric was extremely knowledgeable and explained things in ways that are clear and concise even to someone who doesnt know a thing about cars. I am fairly familiar with the basics of car parts, repairs, and maintenance, but still came away feeling educated by Eric and that he had equipped me with additional, vital knowledge — knowledge I have already applied to improve my own maintenance of my vehicle! Cannot recommend Johnnys, and Eric specifically, enough. They make it real easy to support your local Oakland businesses!

CHM This is the BEST shop in the bay area!! Have been here so many times, Kham and his crew have so much knowledge and skill I wouldn’t trust my family driving in a car they didn’t fix! There is no greater feeling than knowing you are in good hands, getting a good deal and not getting ripped off! Best work ethic, strong morals and overall a staple in our community, THANK YOU COMMUNITY AUTO YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!

Levi Williams 7 years and I dont have a single thing to complain about. In that time Ive brought 5 different cars here and all have been taken excellent care of. Ive come in for prepurchase inspections and have always gotten honest answers. They work with me and my current budget to prioritize repairs when needed. They care about saving me money, like sharing when used parts would be just as good as new. Theyve even let me know when I should probably give up on a car instead of pouring more money into repairs. Danny runs an honest shop. They are always very kind and respectful and work with my schedule whenever they can. Really I couldnt ask for more.

Tung Khuu Another Glenview Automotive visit for hitch installation, another great experience with Simon and the team. Easy drop off, fast pickup, fair price, and awesome work! Clear communications and quoted estimate during appointment scheduling, just the right amount of follow up questions at drop off before starting work, and seamless pickup. This has been our go-to neighborhood shop for the last few years and cars.

Jade Ferreira-Yang Doug & his team provide quality service and at very reasonable costs. I had my 2007 Corolla get a full tune up and later had the break pads replaced. They never do more than necessary. It’s great to find a place you can trust- I’ll definitely be using their services again!
