2 /5 X Rodriguez: Diagnosed w Kidney Stone at local hospital. (Medi-cal covered since it was ER room.) Referred to coastal healthcare office for follow up. Call on a Friday for an appointment, set to Tuesday. Their office was unable to validate my insurance, so I reach out to my insurance, Get a direct membership set up to allow any office that accepts Medi-Cal to see me, and wait for a further call back on their preferred referrals. Coastal Healthcare calls me Monday to re-iterate that they cant bill my insurance, I ask them to give me a few hours (this is around lunchtime when offices will be closed) the office assistant replies that theyll cancel the appointment until I call them, and hangs up before I can finish my reply. Didnt ask if I preferred to pay out of pocket, quote me a price for consult, offer low income alternatives, advise on another local office to contact, or really, give me more than 30 seconds of airtime on the phone. I can only assume their motives and context but Ive worked in the medical industry, Ive seen offices that are patient oriented and others that are... not. Id rate lower but like you (if youre reading this) Id done my research and I already had an idea of what I was getting into. No hard feelings, I wish everyone the best, but yall can do better.
