Wicked Fit

Magdaline Nichols Voorhees Kristen is an incredible personal trainer! I first went to see her three months postpartum, looking for ways to gain strength after pregnancy and get my body feeling back to "normal." She thoughtfully guided me through a strength-building routine where I progressed each week. Its almost been six months since I first started training with Kristen and Ive never felt stronger! Shes extremely knowledgeable about lifting and using proper form and is extremely supportive and motivating. I look forward to every session we have together and feel lucky to have her in my corner as my coach! Id highly recommend her to anyone who wants to gain strength, get in shape, and have fun doing it. :)

South Park Fitness

Marcelo Muñoz South Park Fitness is an amazing place to get a workout. The staff, members and overall vibe is friendly and very local! Rob, the owner and all the staff are very knowledgeable on exercises, and always a pleasure to talk to. I’m moving soon and I’m really going to miss this local South Park gem. If you’re in South Park and need a gym, South Park Fitness is the place for you.

Mission Valley YMCA

Alex Barone This facility is incredible and I’m glad to call it my home gym. I use the weight lifting room, cardio equipment, and indoor/outdoor pool regularly. The strength training equipment is abundant and evenly spaced with plenty of squat racks, machines, and floor space to accommodate varying crowds. The cardio room was just recently updated and all the equipment is so nice to use! I’ve been loving the new treadmills. The indoor pool is often being used for programs. The outdoor pool is the perfect temperature with a great view of the surrounding palms and lounge chairs for a comfortable and luxurious swim experience. I really love and appreciate the Masters Swim program here too. Overall, this is an amazing resource for anyone of any fitness level or interest and my favorite Y location in SD!

Landform Fitness

Tommy D I’ve been going to this gym for over a year now, and while I had no complaints on day one, I can honestly say that they’ve done nothing less than take steps to improve the gym, every day. From adding new machines & trainers as needed, to providing nutritional coaching and expanding their class offerings, this gym continues to embrace feedback and make the appropriate changes as requested by its members so they can get the best workout. It takes me about 15 minutes to drive here from my place, passing several other gyms along the way, but it’s totally worth it because I know I’m going to the best one. Thanks, Landform - see ya soon!

Chuze Fitness

Carlo N. Chuze Fitness is a popular upper middle class gym club in SD. They have different locations throughout SoCal. This location is very spacious and clean. They have all the weights and barbells, locker rooms, cardio machines etc. I like their facility, staff and the protein shake bar. Free wifi and parking are available. Overall, I recommend you Chuze.

Liber8Fit Underground

Ashley Salinas This place is much more than a gym. Its a wonderful community. The trainers are great, member are welcoming and friendly. Its a great atmosphere, that is supportive of whatever your goals may be. The work outs are guided classes with a trainer, except Fridays which are a work at your own pace white board style or you can come in and work on whatever you want with a trainer around to help or answer any questions. I love the variety, never repetitive or boring.

Anytime Fitness

Jt Gerard This place is clean and had more than enough space for what I needed to do. I like the variety of equipment that they had available. The weights are downstairs and spaced out along with an open mat for calisthenics or other activities. Upstairs you’ll find the aerobics machines like stair masters, elliptical, treadmills, and stretching chairs. There are cubbies by the door as well as along the wall upstairs. The restrooms are clean and have showers. I like that it wasn’t crowded but it was also about 6/7 in the morning when I went. Parking is alongside the building or you can park on the street.

Copley-Price Family YMCA

Juan D. Ive noticed that the gym trainers should improve, they know what theyre talking about (I think) but they dont know how to train, their training is very poor and poorly done, its incredible that no one has gotten hurt yet, thats a real miracle. Equipment is good and the staff are always nice and polite

LA Fitness

Joseph Young Equipment is newer and generally in better condition compared to other LA Fitness locations. Peak busy times are 530-6am, then 3-7pm when lines for machines may form and the gym gets warmer especially in the afternoons. Not too many wannabe influencers but some mostly later in the day. Equipment is usually clean but some patrons dont wipe surfaces down unfortunately.
