Up Pilates

Kaley Berlin I already love this place. Brenda has brought my love for Pilates back to life and shes gone above and beyond my expectations from an instructor. I have been out of shape since spine surgery 2 years ago (and Covid times). I found this studio after looking for a smaller class size to feel comfortable in. I have been here now for 2 weeks and feel excited to be back at it - feeling strong and challenged in my body!

Joant cache Very good environment, nice people, very respectful and friendly. Good equipment as well. I want to add a suggestion… could be very useful if the manager adds some sandback for kicking and hitting, because this is a proactive cardio, I assure you that would be a resounding success in attracting customers. Julian Roy Probably the best option for strength training in the Richmond/Oakland area. Power bars, combo racks, and calibrated plates galore. Heavy pulls and chalking up strongly encouraged! Would recommend!

City Sports Club

Lila Orangi I’ve been taking the Zumba classes with Alejandra at Berkeley City Sports Club @ 8:30 AM, and I love it. Alejandra has a diverse and energetic style; motivating everyone to dance and have a great time. She provides excellent and easy to follow instructions with high energy and enthusiasm suitable for all levels. She also includes new, fun music and choreography to each class. I totally enjoy, get a great workout at her classes and feel more energetic after the class. I highly recommend taking a Zumba class with Luisa Alejandra T.

Lisa Leblanc Anne Rene is an amazing, challenging instructor. I have practiced yoga for many years and she brings out a new playfulness in an advanced practice. She has a deep understanding of the asanas, related spirituality and has great music!

Alicia Roy Bay Strength is a clean, friendly, supportive gym! I was new to weight lifting and the "Learn to Lift" course plus coaching were incredibly helpful to making me feel safe and comfortable with the exercises and equipment. The community of lifters and coaches is amazing and Im so happy to have found Bay Strength!

Mark Jellison Training & Fitness

Luigi Oldani 10 out of 10. Mark is a great trainer and has a wonderful operation going with his gym and availability to do virtual sessions and kettle bell classes. I started fresh with mark, I hadn’t been getting regular exercise for a long time. My body hurt; grunts and groans as I moved through the day, lots of aches and pains even first thing in the morning. I now see mark 3 days a week. My body feels strong and pain free from the start of my day throughout my daily routine. And I don’t think I’ll ever stop a regular exercise routine using the gym techniques he’s taught me. I can’t endorse him enough.

Eric Wonder I’ve been coming to this San Pablo location since they first open the staff has always been super friendly and welcoming. Even though they don’t have a janitorial staff, employees do an amazing job at keeping the club up kept.

Traverse Fitness

C B Traverse has been wonderful for my kiddo. The coaches have been super supportive. They’ve been great at keeping my son actively engaged and encouraging a positive/growth mindset in my son. My son had started doing the open gym a little while ago - traverse is a great “ninja” (parkour-type) gym with lots of space for kids (and adults!) to drop in. Because of the great facility and the positive interactions with the helpful and encouraging coaches that supervise open gym, my son felt inspired to take classes at traverse. Not too long after starting classes, and with the encouragement of more great coaches, my son wanted to join the traverse team - and loves it! The summer camps and school break camps have also been a really fun way for my kiddo to be active during school breaks. Very happy that we found traverse - highly recommend!
