1 /5 Daiany Nunes: NEW AT CHUZE, BE AWAY OF REDWOOD!
I want to warn anyone considering the Redwood Personal Trainer program at Chuze
Fitness.
As soon as you sign up for Chuze, Sara will contact you and invite you for a personal training session. This "invitation" is really just a sales tactic to pressure you into signing up for a 12-month paid program immediately.
During this process, she made promises that were not included in the contract. For example, I wanted to start my sessions two weeks later when my payment would be processed. She told me that if I signed up immediately, I would get the last session for free, but this was not in the contract. She also promised a 20% discount if I signed up on the spot, which I never received.
Additionally, the sessions are not as described. She said it would be a 1-hour personal training session, but in reality, its only 30 minutes with a personal trainer, and the other 30 minutes are for cardio. The sessions have no clear goal or structured plan, exercises are random, and the Redwood website isn’t functional and even the personal trainer rather to use a piece of paper to write your workouts that they name “work out card”.
If you decide to cancel before the 12 months are up, you are charged a fee of up to $299.99. I froze my account and I am considering canceling, but they also want to charge me for services I did not use, on top of the cancellation fee, which makes no sense.
I discussed all of this with Sara and her manager, Martin who told me that only what is in the contract matters and that any promises not in the contract cannot be honored. I was told I should have read the contract before signing. I was also given a customer support number that never answers.
In short, if you are new to Chuze, stay away from Redwood. They are not transparent, and customer service only exists at the first point of contact. You will end up with headaches and unmet promises. I recommend finding a personal trainer outside this program, you will get better results and stress free.
