5 /5 Trevor Lloyd: If you are looking for the best gym in LA that will help you build a foundation of fitness and strength for the rest of your life, look no further. Coaches, programming, equipment, and culture are all top tier at Allegiate. You will get stronger, more mobile, and more fit by working out at Allegiate. They don’t take shortcuts and focus on proper form and quality reps—coaches explain the workouts/lifts to everyone, and then throughout the workout they go around and correct form/help you get the most out of the yourself/the workout.
Of note, this is a gym that is focused on lifting weights and getting stronger. For me, that’s a huge positive, but if you’re strictly looking for HIIT/cardio/crossfit, this is not the place. There are no fad or gimmicky programs, just evidence-based strength work that largely utilizes dumbbells and barbells. There are multiple programming options, and it’s a rare gym that caters well to both beginners and elite/experienced athletes. Special shoutout to coaches I worked with a lot like Jack and Anthony who set the tone and make Allegiate great. Also, it’s pretty awesome we get to use equipment like Watson dumbbells/plates, Eleiko barbells, etc.
