I reviewed many stylist instagram pages for a brunette balayage. I have dark brown hair and was very interested in doing a multidimensional balayage. I was recommended to go to Amanda by my sister and I’ve been very happy since. During our first consult, I shared my vision on how I wanted my hair to look and what color/tones I was looking for. I was very new to coloring my hair and unfamiliar with most of the terminology, but Amanda was kind enough to explain everything to me and made me feel very comfortable throughout the process. She was also very honest with my color goals and told me how many sessions it typically takes to get the tones I wanted. I sometimes am a bit unsure on what tones I want to do with my hair and bring in a few different examples to show Amanda. She is very talented and knowledgeable!! Tiffany Li I first heard about amanda through a friend (who also has been going to Amanda for all her hairstyles for quite some time now). Amanda is amazing and definitely did not disappoint. She listened to what I wanted for my hairstyle and took the time to analyze my hair to make it happen. My hair looks super blended now due to Amanda’s help with toner/root melt (previously had bleaching done at another hair salon that was uneven). Also my hair looks so much healthier than before. Tori Roberts Topher is such a caring hair stylist! The salon smells incredible, has such aesthetic decor and a hair washing station that truly makes you feel like you’re at the spa. He took great care in finding out my cut and color preferences and used products that my hair look incredible when I left! My hair looked good for 3 days after with no wash! I can’t recommend him enough :)

I came to know about him through Instagram, where I found that everyone liked him and recommended him as a professional hair stylist as per his work. Ive lived in San Jose for over 10 years and have never found a good hair stylist. I had very bad experiences with my previous hair salon. Im so glad I found a professional hair stylist, Chris is very professional in his work and he welcomed us so warmly and gave me the best cut I could ever ask for. Josie Diep Im in my BIG HAIR ERA thanks to Cheryl. Ive always been curious about hair extensions and I booked a consultation with Cheryl to learn more about hair extensions and to see if its the right fit for me. I met with Cheryl for a 30 min consultation at her salon in Sunnyvale. Her salon was located in Salon Republic (between Target and Whole Foods) with plenty of parking nearby. During the consultation, Cheryl was very informative about the hair extensions and walked me through the installation process as well as how to care for the hair extensions after. My hair is black, long, and straight (due to Japanese hair straightening) and I wanted to do something different with hair extensions. We decided on adding hair extensions for volume and length and layered in colored hair extensions (pink and purple) for a pop of color. I booked an appointment for hair extension installation the following week. The hair extension installation was a breeze. It took a few hours for the installation but it went by quick. I love the end result! Cheryl curled my hair (which is now super easy to curl due to the hair extensions) giving it soft beachy waves and it looks great. Ive never been able to curl my hair before so now being able to made me feel very beautiful. I also love the colored hair extensions, Cheryl did an amazing job layering both colors (pink and purple). Before parting with Cheryl, she gave me a goodie bag with hair detangle spray, towel wrap, silk hair tie, and hair brush specifically for hair extensions - everything I need to take care of my new hair. Since getting the hair extensions, I got many compliments from friends, family, and strangers. If youre looking for a drastic change in your hair style, I recommend seeing Cheryl for hair extensions and book a consultation to see if its right for you.

C Bragg Cheryl is amazing! First of all, she really listens to me. I can always count on her to give me honest feedback based on my hair color and texture to any ideas I may have. She is very knowledgeable not only with cuts and color, but with multiple straightening techniques, styling, and general overall hair/scalp health. My hair has looked the best it has in several years since I started with her a little over a year ago! Her salon is super cute and clean, plus, she is just a general overall nice and friendly person so my lengthy hair appointments seem to fly by. Plus, my hair always looks fabulous when I leave! I highly suggest you give Cheryl a try – you won’t regret it. Oh, and the easy parking is an added plus!

Anuradha Tempe Farin had a lot of experience with hair, and that was evident in the details she looked into while doing my root touch up. My only gripe is that she did not take time to dry my hair. I sat under the dryer for over 20 minutes to dry my hair after my appointment! I don’t know about her but in all the salons I have been to a basic rough dry is a must have with hair color/ root touch up. It left a little too much to be desired in terms of service. She’s cordial and professional. Taking a star off for the service and overall experience.

Have also recommended many friends to the salon over the years and all have had rave reviews! What a gift to have this place. Couldn’t recommend this place more highly! Finally made the decision to get my (2C) hair cut at a place that specializes in curly hair and am so, so happy with every part of the process. My stylist Nelly was incredible, she asked about my goals and went above and beyond with a cut that both addressed the concerns I had AND brought out a tremendous amount of natural curl that had been weighed down. Her attention to detail and meticulousness throughout the cut was exceptional. Sandra, the owner, was also in the salon and along with Nelly offered really helpful, science-based hair care and product tips. Avanta G Ive now been to Sophia for hair cuts 3 times, and I cant imagine going anywhere else. Ive always hated how frizzy my hair is, and felt like I needed to weigh it down with oils to get anywhere. Other curly salons also only recommend their own products, and as Im sensitive to fragrance, Im unable to use any of them :( Sophia has spent hours now giving me great advice, and going beyond the call of duty by making sure that she only sticks to non-fragranced products! My hair feels completely transformed, and my curls are so bouncy, even 6+ months after a cut. Even my scalp health has been improved with the advice Sophia gave! I never disliked anyone but was never loving what I got. I would see styles I like, show a stylist but never felt like I was getting what I envisioned. Turns out I just needed Thy! Im not the best at describing what Im looking for but Thy somehow understands what I want and what would look best for me. She has never led me astray! I have been going to Thy for 7+ years now. She has a great eye for color and is so talented at what she does. She has done such a great job with my hair that even my sister, who lives on the East Coast, made an appointment to see Thy for her haircut recently. Thy runs a tight ship. Each salon looks new and gets business through individual booking website. The building sits in a suburb area, you should not expect to find other entertainment within walking distance.

Lou ggle Yvette is amazing stylist! She knows what she is doing. Very knowledgeable. Very caring and cares about her profession. You pay for what you get is how skilled she is at her job. Would recommend anyone! Get consolation in and find out if its worth it for yourself. It is for me!

Nicole Kelley I went in to get Japanese straightening, but Miky curated a process that would align better with my hair and vision. She’s very knowledgeable about her craft, and took time at the beginning of our appointment to map out exactly what I wanted, and what would be best for my hair. We ended up doing half Japanese straightening + a keratin treatment. With this process, I’m able to achieve straight hair while maintaining some volume. I’m very happy with the final look!
