What Clients Are Saying Forest Glade Gardens (GG)
5 /5 Rob the Nomad: Exceptional stunning garden to see, such a beautiful array of vibrant colors from different leaves of Japanese Maples with highly manicured gardens that you can take endless pics of. Nice place to relax and enjoy the natural splendor of native and imported plants with century old trees. Follow people like me as we make the effort to showcase amazing places around the world for you to evaluate
5 /5 Sarah Jamieson: A beautiful private garden. Lots of area to explore, but you could comfortably see the majority of the gardens in 1.5hrs.
Certain back areas are steep, the small children (under 6yo) walking these did not seem to have a good time. Gardens are lovely for a picnic.
Limited parking close by, there is a free shuttle from the town close by, but it is only a 15-20min walk for those who are keen.
5 /5 Dwane ODwyer: Forest Glade Gardens is an awesome experience! There is so much to look at and see.
We went to 2 gardens on the day and this was by far the best of the 2. Spent almost 3 hours at Forest Glade compared to just over 30 minutes at the other place we visited on the same day.
Be prepared to do some hill walking if you want to see it all though.
It was very busy, however it wasnt crowded and most parts of the garden were very accessible despite the crowd.
The only downside is that there are not enough toilets and I think this could be improved on.
But overall well worth the visit! Totally enjoyable!
5 /5 Sheila G: This garden is a real gem to unwind and enjoy some greenery. You can take a leisurely walk, sit down for a picnic and escape the hustle and bustle of city life and get back to nature. There is not cafe on site, so you need to bring your own snacks and drinks, just don’t forget take your rubbish with you when you leave!
5 /5 Sarah Harrison: Absolutely stunning. Not since I was in Japan have I seen so many Autumn colours. I used to live up in the Dandenong Ranges and thought Id seen the best gardens Victoria had to offer but this one is definitely the winner. Id recommend going the second week of May.to catch the most of the colours.
And make sure you are bundled up; the forecast may seem nice but the icy breeze will cut right through you. Layers work best as you will work up a sweat traversing up & down the hills & winding paths.
I cannot wait to see it again in Spring.
Jay Cao Funfields is a confident establishment that caters to the young and old if all ages. There’s a massive area for picnics and even bbqs, an area that can be reserved for a fee so you don’t need to brave the elements. There’s also VIP huts and seating dotted around every area in the park, it’s definitely a must do on a busy weekend so that you don’t have to find bring the whole camping set.
On to the rides, majority of the rides are water based, from a simple water slide to an water thunderous ride for 4 people built for speed and adrenaline. On a hot day there’s a line however not hours long so definitely bearable.
Most seated rides are part of the entry ticket however most will run roughly 2 mins and yes I have timed it.
Their food option is also very decent and not a rip off. Although service is efficient but somehow I feel a vending machine will suffice for drinks. There’s plenty of lockers but get in early to get the bigger sized one if you plan to roam around all day.
There’s definitely enough rides and things to do for the full day so it’s a good way to spend a whole day and for burning off that excess holiday energy and when going to the beach is not an option.
Anne C Very pretty area to visit.
Good mix of tracks to take you up and down throughout.
The section at the top near the trestle bridge is so lovely, especially where it curves slightly to give you the view of the green fields nearby. Gorgeous.
Yubo Zhuo Very beautiful railway and recommended to sit on the left side when going to Belgrave and right side for coming from Belgrave so you can see the best views. Many photos can be taken. Recommend to wear a face mask for people who have dust allergies because the smoke is quite thick and there are bits of charcoal inside the smoke. There are many local residents waving at you when you are on the train and the big bridge section is great view. Book your tickets ahead if it is holidays.
Average Epicurean Plenty of information from the staff about the surrounding area. A souvenir stand, cafe, restrooms and a museum is also available on site. Alot of beautiful scenery heading towards Emerald Lake, highly recommend taking a look around for some beautiful scenery.
Talitha Margerison Little hidden gem, the playground is great for young kids. You can walk along the creek and have a picnic.
The market held there is really good too, showcasing some amazing local artists.
Alan Liang Fantastic sunset spot overlooking Goulburn river, the spillway and the mountainous surroundings. Has a few chairs and places to sit but would recommend bringing chairs to watch with unobstructed views!
Simon Neill Its a very nice station that trains stop at to fill up at and let guests explore around while they wait.
I got a good photo of the last train of the day getting ready to leave with the passengers.
Very nice.
