UT Health Tyler Emergency Room - Tyler (TX)

1 /5 Between the Surface: All ER Drs and NPs are contracted out from a different company from UT, I saw my nurse practitioner twice and she failed to diagnose to my hyperthyroidism and never asked me any questions about my symptoms. Extremely rushed. When I asked what happens if Im still unable to take down any food her response was to just come back to the ER. $8500 for a few hours at the ER which was luckily paid after I applied to the UT financial aid department but they took 4 months to process my application. I had to contact them every week to get any progress done on my application.

1 /5 Caylee Fourman: No bedside manner from anyone, discharge process was rushed and a shit show with no aftercare instructions for a broken fibula and tibia from a car accident. Tons of miscommunication. The staff didn’t seem to care about me at all and were not timely when giving me medications. The trauma of my experience was minimized by staff.

1 /5 Shady KP: They put drug seeking on my discharge papers because they couldnt get my shoulder back in so I came back 2 days later with it still dislocated and the same doctor accused me of drug seeking. I didnt even ask for pain medication.

1 /5 Cosmic Ladybug: Went here yesterday for mild abdomen cramping and stomach bloating. Was admitted. Was told by 1st doctor that I may have appendicitis, later spoke with many Resident Physicians and told my medical story numerous times on why I was there, by the next day, I was being told I could possibly have cancer and that they wanted to do a tube down my throat to see what is happening and they wanted to give me a colonoscopy. Hours into my 2nd day in the hospital I was not given ANY concrete answer or diagnosis on what my medical condition was, I just was given the run around on Resident Physicians and GI Specialist getting together and DISCUSSING my situation, meanwhile why I had multiple IVs put in, not being allowed to eat, feeling worse in the hospital, than before I went in. I could not get a legit answer on what my medical condition was or a diagnosis, so I decided to leave. I did not feel comfortable with all the different answers I was being given. Most of the people working there are nice, however the Doctors and Resident Physicians NEED TO REALIZE THESE ARE PEOPLES LIVES, NOT JOKES, AND IT SHOUDL BE TAKEN WITH MORE ETHICAL, PROFESSIONAL, CONSIDERATION OR NONE OF THEM SHOUDL BE IN THAT FIELD!!! I am not from Texas and this is the worst care I have received from doctors!!!! Also because I chose to leave voluntarily, I STILL WAS NOT GIVEN AN ANSWER ON WHY MY STOMACH WAS STAYING BLOATED, CRAMPY, TENDER, AND INFLAMMED!!! Nor given any medicine or antibiotics to continue care at home. Will not go back here and JUST LIKE I HAVE READ TEXAS DOES SEEM TO HAVE THE WORST HEALTHCARE SYSTEM IN THE US!!!! What a shame because there are good, decent people that work within the field. Also, Doctors and Resident Physicians do not keep your situation confidential and personal, they spoke to me in my room, where other patients could hear my whole situation, especially when I was told, that what I may have, could possibly be cancer!!! Way to make a patient feel good and cared for!!!

5 /5 Destiny cheyenne: I have sickle cell and visit quite a lot and everyone is always sooo nice to me and never judges me when I’m in pain or have to come in a lot due to the pain they always listen to my care plan and never look at me like I’m a addict cause I’m far from it people just always get that impression from us sickle cell patients and they never do me that way I can’t thank this hospital enough
