He advised that even with a used transmission under warranty, I could still incur significant costs if it failed again—paying twice for labor without any guarantee. There was no pressure to upsell or push unnecessary repairs—just straightforward, honest advice, which I greatly respect and appreciate. 5 /5 Vladimir Strugar: Woke up Friday early, got ready for work, had some coffee and thought I would have a great end of the week. WRONG! As soon as I tried to start up my car, my dashboard lit up like Christmas tree. Most concerning was my EPC light since my Passat is riddled with electric sensors and computers, my first thought was "oh great, Im about to spend a fortune now". My next concern was that I would still have to get to work somehow and most places in Bastrop that fix cars are closed on weekend. This meant I would have to deal with not having transportation and waiting to fix my car well into next week. After short Google search I found Blue Mule auto shop and saw that they are open on Saturday. I made initial call to them and spoke with ever cheerful Michelle who took my mind of the stressful situation with her humorous and kind attitude. We were able to set up appointment for me next morning. I had my car towed there with the help of my state farm app and shortly after I received a call back with the diagnosis. To my relief it was just a overdue battery exchange and a minimal bill attached to it. I inquired if they had time to check my sparkplugs as well as I knew my performance started lacking last few months. They were happy to check and suggested it might be good idea to replace them after they saw what terrible condition they were in. I never felt pushy pressure you always dread taking your car to shop and was pleased with the honest service and outstanding quality of work and sensitivity to my timeframe concerns. I was able to pick my car up that same afternoon and took it for a little test drive on the highway right away. My engine was purring like a kitten again and I felt the smooth turbo charge restored as I glided through my high speed test drive. Thank you Michelle and the rest of the Blue Mule family for restoring my car and faith in a great service. They are small family owned business right here locally in Bastrop. I highly recommend you give them opportunity to help you one day as well and save you the headaches and unnecessary extra cost you will get from big name shops

1 /5 Marcel Garza: I initially liked this place. But after my son had a bad experience here with his tundra I probably won’t be back. After replacing a valve cover gasket, the shop left valve cover screws off, the wiring harness a mess where I couldn’t remove the dipstick, and forgot to replace the plastic top engine cover. Then it was really difficult to get in touch with anyone at the shop so I gave up. It’s so difficult to find a good mechanic in Bastrop

5 /5 Pam F: I spoke with Michelle who was very friendly and knowledgeable. I was told to come in at my convenience to have my AC looked at free of charge. My compressor needed to be replaced. The charge was reasonable and they completed it the day I brought it in for service.
