5 /5 4rox: Angel and his team repaired my mother in laws Nissan Frontier that was damaged when she accidentally hit her garage . It happened during the Christmas holidays and soon after New Years the job was complete. Fast forward to later in the year when I hit a deer on the way to work in my 2008 Toyota Tundra which also damaged the transmission cooler. Once again Angel and his team repaired the truck to better than original condition. Automotive Services of Austin is my go to when it comes to an honest and straightforward shop with many years of experience. Angel also has a towing service as well that comes in handy.

1 /5 Habt: Scammed, Disrespected, and Insulted – Never Going Back!!!!!! I recently visited an automotive shop where I was quoted $1,600 to replace the battery and alternator — an outrageous price that turned out to be a blatant attempt to scam me. I went to another shop and got the exact same job done for $600, with a high-quality battery and alternator that came with a 4-year warranty. That alone proves how dishonest the first shop was. When we questioned the cost at the front desk, the woman responded with a condescending attitude, insisting we pay $319 just for a diagnosis, even though we were already being pressured into an overpriced repair. What happened next was incredibly insulting — she started sweeping the floor while we were still standing there, clearly a passive-aggressive way of trying to belittle or shoo us out. To top it all off, someone had the nerve to tell us to “go back to where you came from.” This was not just bad customer service — it was disrespectful, degrading, and completely unprofessional. I’m appalled by the lack of basic human decency, especially in the way my wife was treated. No one deserves to be talked down to or treated like this for simply asking questions about a price. I will never return to this place, and I’ll make sure others know how they treat people.

1 /5 Hiwot Abate: This place is a complete SCAM and a nightmare to deal with!!!! After having our car towed there, they kept it for the entire afternoon without updates, then called us right before closing to say the problem was the alternator and battery—and quoted over $1,500, which is ridiculous. When I suggested trying to jump-start it first, they brushed it off and didn’t seem interested in any reasonable solution. When we went back in person, they suddenly claimed they had already removed and reinstalled the alternator—without our approval—and demanded $319 just for that, even though no repair was completed. And I only signed a $120-$190 diagnosis fee which I agreed to pay. They told us we had to pay or they wouldn’t release our car. At first, they said cash or card would work, but when we returned the next morning, they changed their story and demanded cash only, refusing any other form of payment. The rude lady there pushed us out of their office, said she doesn’t want to talk to us anymore about this matter and started sweeping the floor on us. Throughout the entire process, they treated us rudely and disrespectfully. It felt like they deliberately trapped us into paying after unauthorized work and then manipulated the payment method to avoid accountability. These people are dishonest, unethical, and absolutely unprofessional. In my honest opinion, they are running a scam operation. Avoid this place at all costs. Don’t take your car to this place under any situation!!! I’ve already reported them to the Texas Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division, and I recommend anyone else who has had a bad experience do the same.

1 /5 Emaelaf Tebikew: Very Disappointing and Frustrating Experience I had an extremely unpleasant experience at Automotive Service of Austin. My friend’s car broke down while we were traveling, and we had it towed to this shop — which turned out to be a big mistake. From the start, the staff were unprofessional and dismissive. It took them nearly the entire day just to get back to us with a basic diagnosis after we called them (beg them), which should’ve taken far less time. When they finally did respond, they quoted an outrageous $320 — just for the diagnosis and less than an hour of labor. Even worse, the cost of repairs was almost double than what other reputable shops quoted us for the same issues. It felt like they were taking advantage of the situation, and their rude, unfriendly attitude made the experience even more aggravating. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Dishonest, overpriced, and completely lacking in customer service.

They thoroughly inspected my vehicle and clearly explained everything that was wrong, unfortunately I went to the dealership prior for their opinion and got hit with a outrageous $250 diagnostic fee that came as a surprise and didnt cover half of what Angels team told me. The service was top-notch, transparent, and only cost me $168. Unlike the dealer they were straight forward about the daignostic fee. Highly recommend their honest and affordable expertise! I cant recommend Automotive Services of Austin enough.
