What Clients Are Saying Sacred Heart Catholic Church - baton rouge (GG)
5 /5 Tamekia J: Great church community!! Fr. Josh is special! His light and his personality shines bright. Alanas voice is absolutely amazing.
5 /5 Thread Sob: One of the most beautiful catholic churches in Baton Rouge. Old, interesting interior. The main attraction, however, was a great priest who delivered a great sermon to a great group of congregants. I reccomended going to mass here and saying some prayers, you just might receive a blessing!
5 /5 Katie Tanner: This church is truly a gem in Baton Rouge. We had been looking for a church to call home for a while and decided to give Sacred Heart a try. The church itself is incredibly beautiful and looks like it should be a cathedral. The atmosphere is so holy and prayerful that even with 3 children who are 4 years old and younger, I am always able to maintain a prayerful and reverent spirit throughout the entire mass. This is so refreshing as it has been stressful to take our children to mass in the past.
The pastor and deacon are both wonderful people who were so friendly towards us, and are obviously very loved by the parish.
We were also blown away by how friendly and kind the parishioners are. We had so many people come up and introduce themselves and talk with us. We are not used to staying around the church after the mass talking with people, and we ended up staying for a while each time we’ve been there talking with different people. It was impossible not to feel at home here, and each week we look forward to going back.
3 /5 Patrick Shaughnessy: This church is internationally known for its iconography which to me is just plain frightening. Some kind of alien Jesus painted in green and gold tones with deep reds commands the ceiling of the main altar area with post modern painted Angels flanking the side altars. The interior has calming deep blue abstract stained glass windows and exposed beams supporting the roof. The church has an excellent sound system that solves the echo problems and a great organ to fill the volume with music
1 /5 matthew Vickry: 3/6/21 during covid it is difficult to find fun activities to do, we thought we found something to fun to do and did a community wide murder mistery that involved us walking in the parking lot of the church. The bishop didnt like the idea of new faces around the church and called the cops to tell everyone to leave or be arrested, instead of taking the opportunity to spread the word of God and save people or introduce new members of the community to his church he took the opportunity to ruin everyones day. Horrible behavior from a church that you would think would be a peaceful and safe place to go. But it is not! Ugly behavior for the representatives of this church

Susie Labry My Church! Appreciate our Southern Gospel bluegrass Yannah Hearts choir. Sweet authentic real people. Programs. Love the food, kitchen, and Wednesday nights. Glad to see more Sunday night activities.
Nathan LaValley Extremely loving people. When I moved into town they helped me get situated, and set up a meal train delivereing my family dinners for 2 weeks. Ive never experienced anything like this and Ive been to quite a few churches.
Sermons are biblically deep and strong in application. Worship is passionate and spirit filled. The childrens ministry (which has two incredible childrens ministers) is getting a revamp and full reconstruction/renovation. Great trustworthy youth programs all around.
Love South and am happy to call it my home!
Kaitlyn Hayes The most welcoming church family! My husband and I moved to the Baton Rouge area and were looking for a church full of worship, fellowship, and a group of people with the common goal of living out day to day life more like Christ. If you’re looking to find a church where the Lord’s presence is evident, look no further! Come join us!!
Fred C This place feels like HOME. It is Very welcoming, non judgmental and friendly people of all origins. I really love the diversity and hospitality of the people there. It is great church to visit when in town or to attend every Sunday
Reńe Roquemore aka ROCKY I called the St James Episcopal Church on Valentines, and spoke with Mr. John the food pantry manager. I explained my needing some food asap.
The Food pantry was closed. But, he allowed to come the same day and pick up some bags of groceries.
Thank God
