Athens Christian Church - Athens (GA)

Alisa Townley We love this church. As a young family we were quickly welcomed when we originally began attending, and when we came back our second week, people remembered our names! This was a huge deal to us, and is only one example of the effort this community puts in to love on people and be the hands and feet of Jesus in Athens. We enjoy the scripture based sermons and feel like this church is one where learning more about and following Christ is the utmost intention.

Daniel Edison I started going here back in August (2022) and have been here since. They are very biblically sound and dont shy away from the truth. They stand firm in their theology. They have a great college ministry for all students and hold different events just for them. The staff and congregation are very welcoming and very inclusive on making sure you feel welcome. Highly recommend if you are searcing for a new church family.

Dez Partlow-Greer Pastor Sammy literally went above and beyond to make sure myself and my husband felt welcome. He took time out of his schedule to send me a welcome video. We came on a Sunday as well where they did a meet, and greet which was nice. We were able to talk with the pastor and his wife Brittany. We even saw some familiar faces which was nice. You are greeted in the parking lot, and when you get in the church. Also there’s free coffee. I love the small intimate feel. The church is held at the Athens cotton mill. Pastor Sammy said they come in early every Sunday, and set up the church. That’s impressive.

Britt Shewbridge I love my church! Truth, Love, and Diversity - these are our pillars! Truth: the Word of God is preached with bold faith. Love: we come alongside one another and encourage each other in our pilgrimages with God! We love God and love people! Diversity: I always brag on our church for this. You will see and be friends with people of all colors and all nations. I eat often after church with the Philippino Fellowship and the African fellowship! I love the unity in diversity - this is what heaven will be like! Come, you are welcome here!

Eddie Bouknight We were greeted by very friendly people. The worship and praise was great. Pastor Brians message was inspiring. He not only preached in a way that the message was easy to understand, but he explained how to apply it in our lives.

Ben Blythe We absolutely love this church. The community is incredible. Both of our boys are loved on each Sunday and look forward to their mornings with the Athens Church volunteers. Our oldest who has autism is cared for by a great group of leaders who are able to adapt to his needs and make each Sunday a great experience for him.
