1 /5 Tara Tara: After waiting several months for this appointment, Reina called today to confirm the routine cleaning scheduled in a few days. She also wanted to let me know that as a self pay patient, a routine cleaning with exam, fluoride, xray (the usual) would be well over $500. Despite the cost being hundreds of dollars more than any other dentist I have ever used for the exact same everything, I asked what the cost would be without xrays since I had a full set done less than 12 months ago. I have great teeth, no cavities, no crowns etc. This is my every 6 month cleaning! The answer was “You have to get the xrays. We don’t know you. It is the standard of care.” After back and forth, the final answer was that the office would not see me or consider my previous xrays, despite this being a routine cleaning and available recent xrays. This office obviously needs to get with the ADA to get an update on the “standard of care” for xrays. Thank goodness that this money grab and unethical practice was brought to light before I was told I have a cavity filled that I do not have!
