4 /5 Danae Diaz: My friends and I had booked a class here last Saturday and based on what they told me & what I noticed here are some pros & cons:
Pros
1. The studio is a decent size and very clean. There was enough space and it was very cozy. They have a water jug as well.
2. The workout itself was great for beginners and intermediate levels.
3. Although not the best experience with this instructor (see below), she was very positive, gave praise, and made necessary form corrections.
4. There was a few minutes after the class to recenter.
5. We all enjoyed ourselves.
Cons
1. The instructor, Emma, arrived 6 minutes before the class was scheduled to start. This left little time to stretch and warm up. The instructor did not note that there were beginners in the class (my friends) and there was no demonstration of how the megaformer worked or initiative from the instructor until we asked (we showed up and waited 15 minutes prior to the start time to try and avoid this but there was no one there upon arrival).
2. I have taken lagree classes at other studios & I was surprised to see there were 2 versions of the megaformer (M2 and M3). There were different stabilizing poles as well. This definitely caused some confusion amongst my friends as the instructor was kind of all over the place with her cues and some of us had the poles falling in between the sequences. Not necessarily a big deal but just something that we noticed.
3. Another small yet important detail was the music. It was on such a low volume we were better off not having music at all. Also, the cues didnt really align with the music. Again, not a big deal just something that we noticed.
4. You have to pay for parking. It’s not expensive but even if you’re a local, or not, I think this should’ve been noted in the confirmation email.
Overall, the class was okay! We think there’s always room for improvement and we would try the studio again! This review is NOT to deter anyone from trying out this studio. It is simply constructive criticism and I genuinely think this criticism was more because of the instructor and not the studio itself.
