1 /5 MV Coop & Corral: Scam artists! I am a local mechanic and I took my perfectly good car in here recently to get smogged. It was looked over by my team before bringing it in and passed a full pre-smog inspection. When i got my results back from SeeDee oil change, I got back the most insane results. They told me for $200 bucks they could do a diagnosis and look into it. Then they told me if I figure it out on my own I can bring it back in and get it resmogged for half price. I took the results to another local smog shop and they told me “these results look like they took out your MAF sensor, but it says everything passed visual inspection”. He popped the hood and lone behold, my mass airflow sensor had been pulled out just enough to throw a faulty reading. He told me it was the oldest trick in the book. I called them back, and they told me to bring it back the next day for a half price re-smog. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I fixed the “problem” and brought it back the next day. They told me it was going to be full price again since my car was too old, company policy. It seems no one working there at the time was aware of that policy… right… absolute scam artists. Save yourself the trouble and go to California smog or Sierra smog on highway 49.
