4 /5 Shmrnt •: If you want a church that prioritizes the Gospel and the teaching isn’t watered-down, I WOULD NOT go to this church.
I grew up going to this church for most of my life up. I am in college now. They teach you the basics of Christianity and it’s your ideal “church” (friendly, upbeat, I Love Jesus! church). But when I became more mature in the faith, I realized that the teachings are watered-down. They don’t bring up sin which needs to be addressed. It’s a church that will make you FEEL GOOD. Notice all the reviews? And a church that makes you FEEL GOOD is dangerous -> Read 2 Timothy 4:3 (ofc any Biblical church will make you happy because you realize we are focusing on Jesus and you are saved). But one that makes you feel like you are secure no matter what with no growth is not good.
Ofc there are people saved in the church (that is why I’m not judging the people, but the Charismatic church) but the teachings are watered down like most Charismatic mega churches. They also believe in speaking in tongues which is NOT Biblical in this day and age (1 Corinthians 13:8-10). That is a separate topic that ppl get confused on.
The church has female pastors (they are kind though) which is NOT BIBLICAL AT ALL. God designed men to lead the church. (1 Timothy 2:11-14 NIV). Paul brings up in verse 11-14—> “11 A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.”
One thing many immature believers don’t notice is that Verse 13 and 14 automatically indicates that Paul was talking about WHOLE CREATION and not just the church he was referring to. Verse 13 begins with “For…” indicating there is a REASON for verse 12. These verses mean that ONLY Male pastors should apply today because of how God designed male and female. Not just for the church Paul was talking about. Male and female are EQUAL in terms of humanity, but their roles in the Family are different. And a females role NEVER includes leading the family (unless there is no male to guide the family) OR the church.
This will only make sense by God’s grace. I pray for anyone who is in the church or is seeing this to BE AWARE of Charismatic churches. Many “Christians” are complacent unfortunately and will not see any problem until they mature as a believer and spend time in the Word. The immature believers want to FEEL SOMETHING with God instead of gaining knowledge about Him.
Pray for a church that TEACHES the Bible, not one that PREACHES the Bible (there is a big difference). I still had many memories as a child in VBS and the people are kind. But I pray that Pastor Javier and his wife would realize that having female pastors is not Biblical. I only want to share this because everyone must be encouraged to seek the Word, not just a church.
LOVE YALL!
