1 /5 Jennifer Pelliconi: I explained to her about how I was feeling brushed off and not taken seriously by other doctors (they refused to diagnose me or run tests, just tell me I was probably fine) and she not only brushed me off but defended such doctors despite not knowing them. (I also want to note I never verbally talked poorly about them and their abilities, just simply how I felt mistreated by them) If you’re reading this Dr. Kono, please recognize that the bare minimum is making your patients feel respected and validate their experiences and feelings. And if you’re reading this as a future or present patient of Dr. Kono, stand your ground because you know your body better than anyone else, and if a doctor downplays a health concern, always get a second opinion! (doing this has literally saved my life, don’t assume that if a doctor ignores something that means you should too)

5 /5 Erica Rettig: Im shocked that Dr. Kono has such poor reviews. Shes one of the most kind and caring doctors Ive ever had the pleasure to work with. She always takes what I say seriously and is not hesitant to order bloodwork or tests to be sure everything is ok. During an appointment, I mentioned to her what I thought was a minor secondary complaint unrelated to the visit, and she ordered bloodwork just to be sure. The bloodwork showed that I have a serious disease and without her intervention, I might very well have died. No joke, I owe her my life.

1 /5 Lily R: Condescending, belittling, and dismissive of any of my questions. Its a real shame UCD is affiliated with this "doctor". I would have been better off not going to see her at all. I left with more questions than before. She even divulged UCD medical budget information to me, like how theyre more than $1,000,000 in "the red", which I assume means debt, and how theres a lot of anorexics in UCD. Im positive that doctors cant divulge this type of information. I hope that UCD straightens up and fires her soon. She snapped at me for not directly answering her questions right away. All she cared about discussing was how I was going to pay. I felt disgusted at this lack of empathy. She couldnt even take 5 minutes to check me first before discussing payment. Definitely the worst doctor Ive ever seen in my life. I wouldnt recommend her to my worst enemy.

5 /5 Jane Fitzsimmons: Dr. Kono was my primary care doc when I was a student at UC Davis and she was the first doctor ever to express concern about my goiter. Thanks to her, I had an ultrasound and biopsy and now have my thyroid checked every 2 years to monitor nodule growth. I felt very well looked after under her care. Competent, kind, no nonsense professional.

1 /5 Sam123 S: WORST DORCTOR!!! She should definitely be fired for forceful putting people for vaccination. She has forced me to vaccinated without my consent. She has been forceful the whole time and misleadingly told me that HPV vaccination is required for students to study here( as I am an international student so I was very clear, so I just trusted what she said). She has ignored all my questions, and simply googled my questions on her computer and showed me. SHE SHOULD BE FIRED! I am very surprised why she is still legally a doctor.
