Adrianne Gutierrez I never knew how to take care of my curly hair or what I could really do with it but Jennifer knew. She gave me an amazing hair cut the way I wanted it and made me feel really comfortable. Her assistant Maya was also so amazing. Maya took care of washing and styling my hair while giving great detail of what she was doing while she was doing it. I was able to ask her so many questions I had and she answered all of them. Taylor Martin Jennifer is amazing! The salon is beautiful and relaxing. I had my first appointment with her today after being terrified to cut my curly hair for two years. My last cut I left in tears after thinning shears and a relaxer was used. I spent a lot of time searching for a new stylist and kept coming back to Jennifer’s website so I knew I needed to just schedule with her. Somehow I made a mistake and my appointment was for the wrong day, I drove two hours with an infant, my husband took two days off work and we stayed at a hotel before even knowing it was the day after what I thought. Jennifer switched appointments around and made it happen for me. I arrived and was welcomed with the offer of beverages or snacks. She explained everything she was doing so well and her assistant did so great on my wash and explaining noodling and wash techniques, my scalp felt amazing after. I did a luxury deep condition and am glad I did. She again offered a beverage so I accepted and had a sparkling wine. This was the first time I’ve been away from my baby for more than 45 minutes since she was born and I felt so relaxed and pampered. Jennifer waited to cut more length off until after washing and styling incase of shrinkage and then added in the extra layers I wanted around my face. She is a busy lady and I can see why, she is friendly, professional and thoughtful. She really knows why she’s doing and takes her time to make sure you’re happy. I left feeling so wonderful, my hair light bouncy and soft. If you need a cut and have curly hair Jennifer is your girl!

Ryan Kelly I have been getting deva cuts from Jennifer for 3 years now and she gives the best cuts for my curly hair-hands down! She has taught me the importance of keeping up with regular trims to prevent breakage and keeps my curls and volume super bouncy by carefully following my curl pattern to cut lots of layers. I appreciate the realistic nature of his approach- after I showed a inspiration picture, I was told that the texture of my hair would simply not ultimately look like that. We adjusted to a similar style that is actually easy to maintain on a daily basis. He also mentioned my face shape and customized the cut and color based on my appearances. Added bonus, this is a private salon, meaning no other hairdressers, and during long hair coloring appointment I am able to get a considerable amount of work done in a quiet environment. Thank you!

Katy Alex is a lovely person and did a great job cutting my hair. I have long wavy hair and not every stylist can get the layering right. Alex was kind, careful and attentive, asking specific questions about how much I wanted trimmed, and how much layering to add. I also asked her for some product recommendations since my hair can be dry and she gave me some helpful suggestions. Robert Le I was referred to Vee by my bestfriend Machelle. I showed Vee some pictures , I wanted to perm my hair. I came in but my hair was unfortunately too short and she told me to come back when it gets a bit longer. Which at that point she wanted to make sure it came out to how I wanted it. Alex Webber I’ve been getting my haircut with Mark for several years now and he’s always a joy to catch up with and always does a good job of cutting my hair at a very reasonable price ~ especially for the Bay Area! Just remember to bring cash as he accepts cash only.

Justice Laub Wow, mark is such an incredible hair artist he’s truly a person that pays attention to detail. He’s really friendly and this is a really popular place. There was someone before I came in then I came in and then there was a person waiting and mark just is an A+ really really solid Human being and creative hair guru. I’ve added it before and after photo and I’m just really pleased with the results.

Aaron Saechao I visited without an appointment, and Mark was very helpful. I recommend calling ahead to schedule an appointment, as Mark seems to prefer getting to know his clients by name. The service cost $30. I brought in one photo for reference, and Mark discussed the haircut I wanted. After finishing, he took a reference photo to remember the style for future visits. I suggest doing your due diligence by finding photos of styles you might want, but if you can’t I’m sure Mark could figure it out I’ll definitely be a repeat customer.

Pat Oungpasuk Ive followed Collette across four salons. When I say shes the best - trust. Shes not only a master colorist and so great with coaxing my frizzy mane into a shape that works well for what I need, but shes also just a delight to hang with. Collette really treats your hair like a canvas and project, so she makes sure you are okay with all parts of the process first. She listens to your needs, offers recommendations based on your hair goals, talks through and answers any and all questions before starting, and is very upfront about what is possible and what isnt. She also takes feedback well - Ill tell her how a haircut grew out and how I want it shaped, and shell take that feedback and improve on it. Ive been going to Collette for years. Ive stopped coming in with inspo pics and just roughly tell her what I want and she goes to town (at times I go in with no clue what I want and just trust her capable hands and vision). I am always thrilled with the results. If you want someone who really knows hair to make you look and feel your best, run dont walk to book with Collette!

I say black hair because we ALL know the rundown when you book an appt for a press and there’s 2 people in front of you, and 2 people behind you- and two getting done while you are! Not strut! I had my OWN time slot BOTH times I visited. Once I got the curly girl deva cut by Carmen and next time I got a cut and press by Antoinette. I could go on and on, the shop is clean and intimate, and they give you a CLEAN robe to put on, they offer water... etc. i also received a hair consultation both times, and I could tell that both women are very knowledgeable about hair, true students of their craft. I am just really impressed! Highly recommend this place.

Anni Bennett Love my balayage and cut by Kayla Thai! I wanted 4-5 inches off. I appreciated that she was conservative with the initial cut, but proceeded to take a bit more off after consulting me. After blow drying, I commented the color was overall a bit lighter/more blonde than I expected, and Kayla didn’t hesitate to offer to correct it on the spot because she knew it would only get lighter over time. After the re-tone, I’m super happy with the color. Kayla is a super kind person, and I felt really cared for. Highly recommend!

Rachel E This was my first time booking a curly cut with Joey, but it will not be my last. I got a hydrating mask, a toner, a trim with layers, and styling. Joey took to the time to figure out what I wanted but was able to give advice when I was choosing between two different color toners. The execution was perfection and I’m obsessed with the results. My curls look and feel better than ever and I’m struggling to keep my fingers out of my hair. Joey has a very warm personality, communicates well, and ensures that you are comfortable and cozy while getting your haircut. Little touches like having a stocked fridge and snacks, fidget toys, and an electric blanket for the back of the chair just added to the overall experience. I cannot recommend enough as this was the best overall haircut experience I have ever had.

Moah Lee Elvia is FANTASTIC!! She did my hair very pretty! I actually went there for get the hair straightening but she looked my hair and been super honest! My hair is shiny and also already straight just some on my bangs little wavy. So she recommended just get some haircut then that will make it look nicer! I have curly hair that can far too easily be cut into an awkward triangle, and she always does a great job. She also gave me simple hair care tips that have allowed my hair to grow longer and fuller. Plus I always have a fun, relaxing time!

Every time Ive had a specific request, be it a sea-witch ombre, an asymmetrical cut that doesnt make me look bald, or an undercut with a perm on top, she nails it with style (pun intended!). On days where Im not sure exactly what Im after, she helps me figure it out. I trust her enough at this point that Ive had days where Ive come in and just told her to have fun, and I always come out with something incredible. (Granted, Ive known her for over a decade, so she knows what I like and our ideas about hair correlate really well, so YMMV - I wouldnt recommend doing this with ANYBODY the first time they style your hair!) At this point no one else is allowed to touch my hair - or my boyfriends, or my daughters, for that matter. Bevs got it dialed in, and I dont trust anybody like I trust her. Orange itself is a cute little shop with 3 stations and fun faux brick wallpaper, easily found and with pretty decent street parking. (Pro tip: the spot RIGHT in front of the store is, for some ungodly reason, limited to 24 minutes.) The lighting and decor is really nice, and on busy days when Bev has to juggle my more complicated requests around other clients (doing a haircut while my dye is processing, etc) I actually enjoy just hanging out in that space. Theres a coffee shop kitty corner to the salon, so if you arrive a bit early (and before 2) you can even grab a coffee or a bite to eat before heading over. I cannot recommend this place - and specifically Bev! - enough. Dont hesitate to make an appointment! *Im not sure Bev does perms anymore - I know theyre pretty labor intensive if youre not as close to bald as I am, and its been a minute since Ive asked her for one.
