Lisa Mckenzie Dealing with a malfunctioning vehicle can be a frustrating experience; however, I wish to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional services provided by S&J Automotive in our small town.
I became acquainted with Josh, the owner, last year after having maintenance performed on my vehicles. His professionalism and expertise immediately converted me into a loyal customer. Josh and his technicians possess extensive knowledge about automotive issues, which is evidenced by their thorough approach. He meticulously explains each diagnosis, ensuring that customers fully comprehend the situation and the recommended solutions, all while being mindful of cost-effectiveness.
Recently, I experienced a situation that further exemplified the outstanding service at S&J Automotive. After concluding my workday, my truck became inoperable due to a broken front right tie rod end. I promptly informed Josh, who efficiently arranged for the necessary parts to be ordered before local shops closed, enabling repairs to be conducted the following day.
Josh’s commitment to customer service does not end there. The next day, he personally called me to discuss additional concerns related to my front axles, which also required replacement. He approached the matter without any pressure but thoughtfully pointed out the potential risks of neglecting these repairs, particularly as my family and I were preparing for an upcoming cross-country trip. Considering the challenging road conditions in our area, he advised that replacing the axles would be prudent. Trusting his expertise, I proceeded with the recommended repairs, confident in his judgment. Moreover, Josh went above and beyond by ensuring I received the most competitive pricing for the required parts, demonstrating genuine care for my financial considerations and my vehicle’s safety.
I would also like to note that S&J Automotive offers exemplary services, such as picking up vehicles from customers’ workplaces for oil changes and returning them promptly, from which I have personally benefited. In summary, the superior service and dedication exhibited by S&J Automotive cannot be overstated. I am grateful to have found such a reliable and customer-oriented establishment, and I will remain a loyal patron for the foreseeable future.

Ian Coleman After having gone to other places in town and being ignored and disrespected, a neighbor recommended coming to S&J Automotive. I can not say it enough, WOW! These people are amazing! Not only was the owner super friendly and helpful but his staff that we met, Roger, was just as pleasant and helpful. My wife called to get some information and pricing regarding a tire issue. We both spoke to Josh, the owner, over the phone and explained what had been going on. My wife asked what the schedule looked like expecting the normal "it will be a couple of weeks" to be asked when can you be here? They saw us first thing the very next morning! They worked with us regarding scheduling, the number one thing Josh kept saying is "your safety is the most important thing" and I cant express how much that meant especially since other places are solely in business to make money. This is more than a business, it is a commitment to their customers, their work and to their community. S&J is the ONLY shop we will take our vehicles to from now on and the only place we will recommend to anyone.

Josh Zakar I initially brought my vehicle in for front-end work, which included new struts and a control arm replacement. Not long after, while my wife was driving slowly on a dirt road (after previously driving on the highway), the outer tie rod end completely disconnected—leaving one wheel with zero steering control. The nut and cotter pin that should have secured it were entirely missing. This could have caused a serious crash if it had failed earlier.
After I posted a review about this safety failure, the mechanic responded with false claims to cover himself, saying the tie rod "broke" and that I “declined the work.” Let’s set the record straight:
The tie rod did not break. Anyone with basic mechanical knowledge (and anyone who looks at the pictures) can see that it simply came out of the steering knuckle—no damage to the threads, just no hardware securing it. That points directly to improper installation or complete negligence.
I was never told the tie rod was unsafe or at risk of failure. If I had been, I certainly wouldn’t have put my wife on the road with it.
As for his claim that I "stole" parts (a water pump, thermostat, and radiator): this is completely false and irrelevant to the actual issue—a detached steering component that could have caused a fatal accident. These parts were never requested by me, and I never asked for them to be installed.
The ABS sensor wire was left hanging after the work was done, and I have photos to prove it.
The mechanic’s response says more about his professionalism than I ever could. Rather than take responsibility for a life-threatening mistake, he’s trying to distract from the issue by lobbing false accusations and shifting blame. The facts are simple: a steering component was left unsecured after major suspension work, and someone could have died because of it.
I’m posting this to warn others—your safety should not depend on luck.
