Valley Fitness - Harrisonburg (VA)

5 /5 Monday Isa: I was down here in Harrisburg VA for work and the gym I go to doesnt have a franchise in this area. Being away for a week I really wanted to get in a workout. After reading reviews from different gyms in the area I decided to give this place a try. My experience was an A+. This gym has a lot of machines, and was not packed like my gym in the afternoon/evening. The staff were great, and I was able to get my workout in no issues. Members here were very respectful as well. Anytime Im working in the area this would easily be the gym away from home. Such a great experience.

1 /5 Kyle Brown: Full disclosure this is kind of a petty review, but nonetheless I am from out of town and tried to get the 3-day pass because I was going to be in town for about a month and wanted to check out the gym. It is not advertised anywhere that you have to be a city resident to get 3-day pass but when I showed up an extremely rude front desk guy turned me away without even letting me explain my case because my ID was an out of town address. I cant speak on the gym itself, but the staff and policies are not it with this place.

2 /5 A. Lambert: This review is about the staff, not the gym itself. Me and my boyfriend stopped in for our 3-day free pass. We have lived here for years, and were asked to provide our local ID’s. I handed mine to the front desk person, with my local address on it, and the staff member scrutinized my ID for about 20 seconds, almost as if they didn’t think it were a real ID. When it was my boyfriend’s turn, we then tried to explain that my he has lived here also and just hasn’t updated the address on his license. We were met with suspicion. The front desk staff even asked if we had the same last name. I don’t see how that would change whether we live here or not. I reached for my ID back, and the front desk staff continued to study it before slowly and reluctantly handing it back to me. I don’t understand why such security measures are in place. Me and my boyfriend have lived here for years, have a local address, work in Harrisonburg, and were still treated with suspicion. Definitely will not be getting a membership since this is how they treat locals. We are young and look like college students, which is why I assume we were treated this way.

5 /5 Alex Croxton: Youre not gonna find a better all-around gym in Harrisonburg. Youre paying regular gym prices for what is essentially a health club, just a little less fancy looking. I have had very few problems with the staff and members of this gym.

5 /5 Rita Taylor: It has floor exercises for seniors. It has a water class 3x a week. A senior can choose between floor or water to get in exercises. It has a lot of equipment on the floor to choose from.
