5 /5 One Mans journal: Lots of tables great rustic picnic area including a small toilet block for the day tripper situated on the pristine waters of Westernport Bay with view out to French Island, the Crib Point pier is also located here but access is restricted as its border quarantine area for the ships that come in for offloading. This is a quite place to relax with family.

4 /5 Lucas Pardo: Beach is not an accurate description. It is covered in sharp rocks, so there is little chance of swimming. But it is a relaxing place. Plenty of shade, picnic tables and electric BBQ. Public toilets with running water. Good for walks.

Forrest Caves - Newhaven

Alistair McLean There are quite a lot of timber steps from the carpark to access the beach. The surf is dangerous and not patrolled - there were four fatalities in 2024. You need to time your visit carefully with low tide. Even at low tide, you need to wade through shallow water across rocky outcrops, so wear shorts and shoes that can get wet. You can also see inside the cave through a large hole from the rock shelf above but cant access it from above. Allow about 30 minutes for a stroll from the carpark to the cave. Its worth the visit. Kids need to be carefully supervised and keep an eye on the time and the tide once you are inside the cave.
