Rain Hayne & Shine Farmyard - Balnarring

Bianca N Brilliant. My daughter had the time of her life and went for both a tractor ride and a pony ride! The farm was just the right size. Been to other farms but this was a really great experience. Even have a playground. They recycle tubs for you to buy feed in too. Lots of animals. A+++

Main Ridge Nature Conservation Reserve - Flinders

Lilly Had great fun walking there. Look at all the branches I found! The last one is a PERFECT blade! I wore the wrong clothes, don’t do that is you wanna have all the fun in the bushes. Hiking boots are recommended.

Mushroom Reef Marine Sanctuary - Flinders

Lee Daniello Great spot to check out the reef and rock pools. Lots of various kinds of seaweed and seagrass, plenty of opportunities for shell hunting, and further out on the head of the mushroom, you can see some fish swimming in the small canyons under water. You might even find some abalone shells! There werent a lot of people when I went, but I did see a small group of people snorkelling, seems like it would be a great spot for it. A word of caution, do check tides before walking out onto the causeway, especially if youre not a strong swimmer. I made the mistake of going out to the edge of the reef as low tide was ending and before I realized it, the entire causeway was well underwater, making it a bit difficult to walk back to shore through almost knee deep water (luckily I didnt encounter any rays!).

Baldry Crossing Picnic Area - Main Ridge

Sue W A beautiful roadside picnic area with a table, somewhere to park the car and a public holding yard to fence your horses while you relax. Theres no public toilet and I dont remember seeing the little hot plate for bbq, which used to be there. (Maybe I overlooked it.) Theres a river at one end of the car park and across the road a decent walk alongside the river, into Greens Bush. Im easily disoriented, but take note of where youre going when theres another track that joins the one youre on. Dont venture of the track because there is a fungus that Parks are trying to control and it spreads from the bottom of our shoes when we step on the invisible spores, which are off the track. Points of interest are on the big noticeboard near the start of the walk - this is the last remaining natural bushland on the mornington Peninsula.

Main Creek at the Sea - Cape Schanck

Hayleigh Beach Bushranger Bay xx what a nice and wild place. A lovely 45 min walk each way at 5 year old child pace. The beach isnt a safe swimming beach, with warnings for rips, but you can still dip your tomatoes none the less . Walk to the far end of the beach where you get dual tides hitting you on the small causeway to the island. Lots of adventurous where climbing the island, I would have too if it wasnt for the children already complaining about having to face walking 45 minutes back!! No facilities there, so plan ahead accordingly. Watch out for snakes, there were a few on the track and a bunch of echidna who were not interested in stopping to let you pass as they dug up the pathway looking for a tasty treat.
