Guilfoyles Volcano - South Yarra

A W Such an interesting piece of design that is both beautiful and functional. As with all things in the Botanical gardens Guilfoyles is well thought out, practical and beautifully executed. Accessible from both sides of the garden for all abilities, its a pleasure to walk up to the top and get an understanding of how it all works and the useful purpose it serves. Once at the top, theres some great views of the city and the rest of the gardens.

Great Wall of St Kilda - St Kilda

Adam G This stunning wall was created in 2009 by Australian artist Camille Monet and the St Kilda Residents community. They named it the "Great Wall of St Kilda" and it covers what was previously an ugly wall of a Citypower building that was the target of tagging and old bill posters. Its 11 metres x 5 meters and made of a total of 807 clay tiles. Camille Monet created two hundred and seven large tiles and six hundred smaller tiles were designed and made by local St Kilda residents who she encouraged to participate. The tiles were designed to capture some of the past and present characters and stories in the making of what St Kilda is. Each tile is unique and you can spend a lot of time just looking at them and taking in each message. It’s colourful and thus representative of St Kilda. Its definitely worth checking out.

St Kilda Breakwater -

Hugo Sun Very lovely place, which ranks No. 1 in the viewpoints I would like to recommend to my friends from other parts of the world! I saw Little Penguins here, and took nice portraits for my doll friend. And this place is totally free of charge. Don’t hesitate, just come. äøę„§ę˜Æå¢Øå°”ęœ¬ē¬¬äø€å¤§ę™Æē‚¹ļ¼Œę„å°±åƹäŗ†ļ¼

Grattan Gardens -

Ashlee Jayde Grattan Gardens is absolutely gorgeous and such a versatile space! We attended a Fringe Festival event here, and it had a lovely garden party vibe, complete with a cute bar setup. Beyond the festival area, the gardens extend with plenty of open space, perfect for relaxing or exploring. Despite the rainy and gloomy weather, the lights and pops of color really brought the area to life. Located in the heart of bustling Prahran, it’s surrounded by a vibrant scene with nearby cafes and restaurants, making it easy to grab a bite and then unwind in the park. If you’re visiting during the Fringe Festival, this location is a fantastic choice. There’s a circus tent set up with various performances, from Granny Bingo (which we saw) to circus acrobatics. I love that Parks Victoria supports local talent and art, and the space they create here is wonderful. There’s plenty of heating outside the tent on cooler nights, though it can feel a bit chilly inside until everyone’s settled in. Definitely check out this spot, not only for the beautiful park but also for the work they’re doing to bring Melbourne’s art scene to life!

Jason Tabrett A little bit of a hidden gem on the far side of Toorak Road and not easily seen from the street! There is a large sized cricket field there, cricket nets, park bench for picnics and a fun playground for the younger children!

Booran Reserve - Glen Huntly

Melbourne With Siri This is such a great spot! The kids loved the water play area, and we were so glad there’s plenty of shade around. There’s heaps to do with the big slide, climbing, sports areas, and paths for bikes and scooters. Perfect for a fun family day out!

Sir Zelman Cowen Park -

Steve Le Big park with connections to a Baseball ground which is rare for Melbourne. Friendly area and major spaces for dogs to run around. Though tables would be nice for a picnic.
