5 /5 Michael Kouoloukas: Had a waxing session at Southland Essential Beauty and couldn’t be happier. The staff were professional, friendly, and made the whole experience really comfortable. The space was clean and calming, and the service itself was quick, hygienic, and done with great attention to detail. You can tell they really know what they’re doing. Highly recommend if you’re after a smooth, stress-free waxing experience.

1 /5 Sushmita Kunduruu: Absolutely horrible experience at Essential Beauty Southland. I originally got four piercings done at the Chadstone location, and the team there was amazing—professional, caring, and made me feel completely at ease. When that store closed, I expected the same level of service at the Southland location, but unfortunately, it was the complete opposite. On February 18 2025, between 1-2 PM, I went in to get two helix piercings for $80. However, once I was in the piercing room, the piercer told me I had a "curvy ear," which confused me. Feeling unsure, I decided to get just one piercing instead. She said that was fine but then charged me $70 for a single piercing—which seemed completely unreasonable. A week later, I returned and politely asked if I could pay the difference and get the second piercing as originally planned. I even explained that I had chickened out the first time. The same piercer flat-out refused. When I told her I felt like I wasn’t being looked after, she showed no concern at all. I mentioned that I would be leaving a bad review, and her response was, "You can do what you want. That kind of attitude speaks volumes about their professionalism (or lack thereof). I would never recommend this place to anyone. If you value good service and being treated with respect, avoid Essential Beauty Southland at all costs.

We had a successful piercing as a result of great staff attitude and empathy. We loved the little touches with the bear and bag that were given. Thanks essential beauty for making this special experience a happy one.
