3 /5 Chelsea Stack: I have mixed feelings about this church and its congregation. They dont have much experience welcoming new members. But neither does Fredericksburg. The community is more at fault for this then the church is. I was baptized WELS, attended WELS grade school and high school system in Wisconsin, as well as worked at the seminary, kingdom workers and WLCFS Christian family solutions. Im writing a creative nonfiction novel and childrens book about my experience growing that up Lutheran with a mental illness that will hopefully be a mockumentary musical TV series someday. Shepherd of the Hills has some great pastors and congregation if you play by the rules. Im a journalist, so Im good at asking questions that make people think. That congregation and I have a love/hate relationship, but I appreciated all they taught me about Texas culture, WELS politics and family traditions. Thank you for finally accepting me, even if your love for me was conditional. I hope you find your true North and shepherd.
