2 /5 David Wilson: I hired this good sir to change my serpentine belt, replace my spark plugs and clean the throttle body. The cost was $472 on a 2018 Nissan Titan Sv and took roughly 3 hours or so. While driving on Saturday, the traction control light comes on and the truck stalls in the middle of traffic. I was able to get it out of the way and made contact so he could come check it out. He found two codes come up related to the throttle body and the abs system. He ran some tests, then cleared everything and followed me to the house just incase. At the house he said that he may have to replace the throttle body, which I didn’t understand at the time why he would recommend that if all he did was clean it. The truck ran fine until Sunday morning and the same code came back up and I almost stalled in the middle of traffic again. Had he come by again Sunday and it found the same codes, but kept saying that what is going on has nothing to do with his work and I disagreed, because this wasn’t an issue before. I had the brakes worked on at express oil change & tire engineers on Culbera, so I took it back there and they found out that everything is related to the throttle body cleaning. The throttle body has to be replaced which is costing me $1300 after paying $470 for what I thought was just going to be routine maintenance. The mechanic is denying all responsibility but offered to replace the throttle body if I paid for it, which reminded me of what he recommended Saturday about possibly replacing it. He also showed he’s ego by laughing about the place I took it to, but it wasn’t the brake job that caused the issue. I also included pictures so there’s nothing to hide. I’ll just be taking it to a shop from now on. Expensive lesson learned, but learned nonetheless. Have a great day
