Our Mother Of Sorrows Catholic Church - Burnet (TX)

5 /5 Richard: In all my years this has got to be one of the most unique Catholic church’s I’ve attended. The building is small, maybe 24’ wide and 80’ long but it has a lot more character than most church buildings I’ve admired and attended. It’s very cozy, almost more like a grotto than a building. I’m told it was built in the 1940’s with thick stone walls, a high pitch roof (12:12?), expose wood rafters and beams. It’s a perfect example of a typical hill country building using the resources of the area. I’m surprised it doesn’t have some sort of a historical plaque on the front of the building detailing its history. All that I can say is it’s an amazing example of the simple style of craftsmanship of the period. I probably needed to go back because I was so impressed with this little church that I didn’t remember what the sermon was about.

2 /5 P. Ashley: One of the most unusual and inappropriate masses I’ve ever been to. On Easter they held the service in the RE room-why?? The priest started out about talking of the importance of the day but then morphed into criticism of his colleagues in Mexico. Was so disappointed when we left!!!

5 /5 Christina Otero: I really enjoy his way of explaining the scripture @ our mother of sorrows on Burnet. He’s an awesome praise never met him, but I’ve been to his services.

1 /5 J L: The rather arrogant priest actually thinks hes not responsible for the desecration. As I passed by... God said, go to this place! So in protest I must write this or face omission charges. How did a couple of kids on drugs gain access to the tabernacle, priest? Do you suppose, they...who knew little to nothing of the reverence, will be at fault more than the priest that was careless with the key? Especially with, as you testified priest, multiple warnings of impending desecration! May the grace and peace of Christ our Lord pour out upon like honey you fam!

5 /5 Nicci: I actually went to there food bank. Plenty of produce and milk. Even had eggnog. Great place to help with those extremely overpriced veggies in the store. These came fresh off a farm.
