McCue Dental - Watertown (NY)

1 /5 M Angela (TheBestNightmare): Dr. McCue was very friendly at first and made me feel comfortable before and after Id had an extensive procedure. That didnt last long. Because I was very ill the night before a follow-up and left a message to let them know I couldnt be in the following day, I was advised that I didnt give 24 hours notice and no longer would be a patient. The receptionist advised me that I had signed a paper saying such. No...and I was right..I did NOT. The woman had me in tears. At my last appointment I was told that the individual who made the oral accessories was retiring, so I would have to go elsewhere for new fitting. No appointments available until January of this year (which was to be months from then). No referral (I asked for one), no root canal that I needed- and I have not gone back. Its so much about the money and no longer about the care of patients. In my opinion. EDIT: Due to my HONEST review, I received the following letter stating that Id broken confidentiality (untrue, by law) and no longer a patient. Whats that saying? You cant fire me. I quit! Anyway, be careful. Free speech is frowned upon.

5 /5 Jennifer Decker: We had such a great visit today! I called yesterday to see if my son could be seen sooner as his appointment was scheduled out a bit and I didn’t want his cavities getting any worse. We have Fidelis insurance. The kind receptionist found an opening for today and got us right in. We had to wait about 20 minutes which was no big deal! The dental assistant was very kind and chatty once I initiated pleasant conversation, and the sweet dogs roaming around were so fun to pet. Dr McCue was very professional and gentle. He narrated everything as he was going along filling two cavities as to put my 17 yr old son and I both at ease. He was flexible when I requested my son have a panorex done, and he took extra time after the appointment to fill out the clearance paperwork we needed today. As usual, another great visit to McCue Dental!

1 /5 Catherine Bryant: The dentist is very friendly and good with kids. I also love their dogs in the office, HOWEVER, the front staff are rude and unprofessional. They make you feel like a huge burden when you call for anything. It also takes them a long time to get any kind of referral together. Probably wont be going back unless they replace the front desk staff. **Edit** A few weeks after this review I received a letter informing me that they will no longer be seeing my children at their office due to a "breach in doctor/patient relationship". So theyre also petty. I would not recommend this office to a flea.

1 /5 Zach S: DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD TO THIS OFFICE. The other reviews you read are correct. The dentists are crooks. I took my daughter for an exam and walked out with them saying her tongue was tied, its not, and she needed all this other work like mouth widening and braces when in reality, all that was wrong was two simple cavities. If they know your insurance is decent, they will squeeze as much out as possible. For example, because my daughter has severe dental anxiety, they told me they would have to take her to an OR. Moreover, I was essentially shaken down by one of their staff members for a $250 oral sedative that they could not even guarantee would work. I didnt pay for that; instead, I got a second opinion. They also forced me to sign a treatment document before the exam was even over. The assistant shoved this document in my face, tried to play it off as not a big deal, but told me that the document basically says they will report you to CPS if you do not follow through with their plan of care. Long story short, stay as far away from this place as possible. If I could give them 0 stars, I would.

1 /5 Gigi DArgenio: RUN as FAST as you can from this dentist!! These dentists are butchers!! They know what your insurance covers and they will perform ANY and ALL dental work even if your child doesn’t need it they make up stories and sell you . Went in for a simple surgery and came out with all kinds of silver metal caps then they said his tongue was tied and sniped his tongue HIS tongue was not tied children are always checked by their pediatrician … I was amazed to find out in the reviews the exact same situation happened to many other children . They are just in it for the money … hopefully more will report these scams to their insurance companies and New York State .
