Church of St. Anthony of Padua - New York (NY)

Nick Felker I visited this place as the New York Philharmonic performed Handels Messiah. This was the first time I visited and I found myself completely enamored by the decor and architecture. Everything has a significant amount of detail and the main cathedral provided an excellent acoustic experience.

Cooke Harvey Was there for a funeral but the clergy and helpers were extremely nice. Fun to chat with afterwards. The sermon was great and I can see why our dear departed enjoyed going there.

Mr. Worldwide/AFJr Beautiful Episcopal Anglo-Catholic church, located near Times Square. So, if you are at Times Square you can’t leave NYC without visiting St Mary the Virgin Church. Take pictures of this magnificent Catholic Church. Enjoy the gorgeous interior decoration of one of the finest churches in NYC.

Oliver I just went for the first time. For me, these are the earmarks of what I would consider a church that I want to attend. The pastor preaches straight from the word and exposits it with historical context. Near the end of the sermon he presents the gospel and extends an invitation to non-believers (who are of course welcome to attend). After this, the bread and wine is administered to the congregation and more prayers are given. The commitment to biblical preaching and genuine community is what will likely keep me going to this church.

Charles Ednie I have always had a great experience every time I have attended this church. It ismy church if choice when I visit the city. The church is beautiful and the Mass times are very convenient. My last visit was on Christmas Eve and the quality of the choir, organ and additional musicians made me feel as though I had been listening to a choir from Heaven. I have never heard a better choir performance anywhere. The music was awesome! The singing and organ play have always been great when I have attended the Mass on Sundays, when I have visited there. I highly recommend this church to those who live in the area or are visiting the city.

Amanda Corinne Small Meta Church was a gem of a find. I felt so welcomed and at home upon arriving my first day (alone mind you). The messages are so powerful and I always walk away feeling like a better person or someone who can make a difference because of them. Going to Meta on Sundays have become something I look forward to each week as I know that no matter how I show up, I always leave with a sense of fulfillment, clarity, and happiness. Ricky and Krista are two of the most welcoming, thoughtful, and bright people ive encountered here in the city and owe it to them for all they do for our neighborhood and being there when I need it most. I highly recommend Meta to all!

Jonathan Mendez This church practices and teaches the true message of Love that God teaches us, a church where everyone is welcome, Beautiful homilies , beautiful music, this church has adult groups for baptism and confirmation and the best Easter Vigil in NYC.

R M Grateful to have experienced the warmth, kindness, and hospitality of this parish. The Sacred Heart is stunning. I’m looking forward to returning.

Rachael Wright Even if you aren’t Catholic I suggest going to mass to see this place being used in the format for which it was built. I’ve been to major futbol stadiums in Europe and you’re always stunned by the size, but the fullest experience comes from seeing it full of people, unified on a single thing. In this case, it’s the Eucharist, but don’t worry - you don’t have to take communion, and if you’re not Catholic you shouldn’t - so just stay in your pew and enjoy the music.
