1 /5 Michaela Bridges: SCAM ALERT!!!
I brought my 2013 Audi (with 76k miles) in for a cylinder 2 misfire. I paid for diagnostic testing and was told it was the fuel injector. I trusted the professional and went ahead and paid $1,293.20 for parts and labor. Naturally he was trying to up-charge me by offering spray some carbon cleaner at my engine for an additional ridiculous fee. When I picked my car up I could tell immediately it was still running rough. Sure enough, just a few days later the check engine light came back on for the same exact code indicating cylinder 2 misfire. Knowing he didn’t fix the problem, the mechanic said he would “work with me” which only told me he wasn’t going to make it right. He reluctantly told me to bring it back in (scheduled me 3 weeks out) and claims to have done a compression test and proceeded to tell me I need a new engine and that I should buy a new one for them to install. Ultimately, I reputably had a compression test done and it was clear that the cylinder is in fact bad. Had the diagnostic been done correctly (if at all) from the beginning, he would have known this and I wouldn’t have paid $1,293.20 for something that was absolutely not the issue. The shop is unwilling to accept any responsibility. Please learn from my expensive mistake and avoid this incompetent garage. I will be making sure Broome County residents are aware of Accuracy Auto robbing innocent people blind.
