1 /5 Payden Forkum: So far not impressed. It’s 07:40am and the office door is locked and their phone system is still turned off. My appt is at 8am but they told me to arrive 30 minutes early? One other customer is waiting with me.
Update 0742 employee just came to unlock the door. She was on her cell phone, unlocked it and walked away without saying anything to the 2 customers standing outside the door. She don’t even make sure the door opened. I had to back up and walk toward it again for it to open.
Update 0752: sitting inside, the employee who unlocked the door is sitting at the front desk still on her cell her phone. She hasn’t checked in either of the 2 customers sitting in the lobby.
Update 0805: staff member just checked me in. She commented that they have call outs and that’s why she is late today. The other customer was called up to the window as I was still being checked in (staff member was making a copy of my insurance card and called the next person while doing it). I moved over so the other customer could talk to her at the printer. She told that customer that her insurance wasn’t going to cover today’s treatment so if she wanted to pay in cash she could otherwise she wasn’t going to be seen. That patient left of course. I felt bad, why did they not call her before the appt day to let her know that? I would have been pissed. It’s now 0814 and I’m still waiting in the lobby for my 8am appt.
Update 0821: called back. Tech said good morning but didn’t introduce self. She was nice. She took me to get an x-ray and made the mistake of asking how my experience is going. I told her my frustrations and she said she has been hearing the same type of complaints recently. As she logged in to turn the x-ray machine on, she asked if I was my chance pregnant, I am 19 weeks. Stopped and looked at me as if this is something she should have known this information sooner. She asked me to have a seat and went to get someone else. That person explained to me that I have to have a form form my OB giving permission to have an X-ray and if I need further dental treatment. So I have waisted my time sitting here since 0730. It is now 0837 and i just left without getting anything done. I should have left the moment they didn’t open on time. I do not blame the tech at all, she was nice and did what she could. They need to have better communication with the staff and if pregnancy is something that needs a form, they should ask patients on the phone first before making appts so they don’t waist people’s time and lose business. In addition, their front desk staff when she called to confirm my appt didn’t even know how to give me directions or give me the office address. When they made my appt, they told me I would have an exam and then would have my teeth cleaned, me thinking it would all be in the same day but no, exam first and then schedule another day off work to get teeth cleaned. This is something that should have been explained upfront when I made the appt.
