Im 48 years old. So, its with nearly a half century of experience that I say "this was unequivocally the worst church service Ive ever been a part of". My family and I are visiting from out of state, and I wanted to take my kids and wife to church, as God is far more important than anything else in our lives. We sat through ~90 minutes of church today. After church, I realized that I dont know who the pastor is, I was welcomed by no one, and I sat through what was essentially an hour long live action infomercial explaining how awesome their church is for the work theyre doing with disaster relief, etc. Please dont misunderstand: of course charitable works are important. But, if charity starts at home, and the churchs leadership is tasked with building up the church to go out and share the gospel & Great Commission... Well, Ill stop here. Would I ever go back to this church? Not a chance. It was all I could do to NOT get up in front of the church and proclaim that theyre not worshipping God, but themselves. I will be praying for the people and areas they brought to light, and I will pray for this church as well, that they find their way back to the Father.
Two stars because Im desperately trying to be charitable in my rating.
